Wait - Should I calm down with colour? Manor House Gray v Vardo (Teal)
Comments (11)I think 'man about the house' is giving good advice. I adore teal but in this instance a paler grey with teal accents in accessories may suit the space better. I painted a similar wall in a lovely rich purple and it was too much, too dominant for my space :/ . It is a gorgeous colour though it really looks amazing against the lamp and couch.... Oh maybe be brave and go for it!!...See MoreNeed help with my open plan kitchen living room colour scheme
Comments (6)Hello there, Thanks for your reply, and you’re very welcome. I have found you some similar colours to the list you have provided below: Farrow Ball Skimming Stone Dulux Elderflower Tea Farrow Ball Worsted 284 Dulux Dusted Moss 1 Farrow Ball Elephants Breath Dulux Knotted Twine I hope these colour suggestions are helpful. Unfortantly I wasn’t able to find the colour Wattle II or Wattle III, so I can’t match a Dulux colour from our range I’m afraid. If you would like to double check the colour names, or send me a link to the colours, I would be more than happy to find you a similar colour for you. Comments (2)Hi, what a lovely space. Have you enough budget to change the banister style? They're really busy and detract from your gorgeous ceilng. Glass panels might be good. Also, what's the floor like under the carpet? If it's decent timber could you keep it? A waxed or varnished finish could bounce some light around the room. Have you got a sofa etc? What colour is the upholstery? And of course you need to think about the colours you like! Personally I couldn't stand living with peach or terracotta colours on my walls, and I don't like pale blues either, so that limits my schemes! I think your room is big enough to have a rich colour on the end wall but you may want to go for a neutral scheme... Good luck!...See Moregrey carpets - colour schemes
Comments (10)Congrats on your new home, you have a blank canvas which is fantastic! Have a hunt through the photos on Houzz for living room pics you like. Add them to an Idea book. You can then review the idea book to see if there are themes you have focused on. Maybe you like country style, or mid century, or boho. Once you have got an idea of that, then look at the colours you are drawn to. Maybe you like greens, or blues. Now you have style, colours, you can start thinking about putting the room together. A classic start if to do the 60%, 30%, 10% rule. 3 colours where your walls at 60 will be the dominant colour, 30% will be things like sofas and curtains and 10% are your accents like cushions. Post photos and thoughts on this thread about the stuff you have found. The community on here is fantastic and will give you great feedback on your choices and help you think of stuff you wouldn't normally have considered. Good luck and I am looking forward to seeing what you do!...See MoreCarolina
