Marble Tile Matching
Hi all,
I'm looking for tiling experts. I have shower that needed the floor pan to be replaced, thus the first row was destroyed to make way for the replacement liner. The tile on the wall is 30 years old, and though I realize it's very difficult to match tiles, I can find absolutely nothing the way of a white Marble with gray/black thin bolts running through it. The closest I could find was a Calcutta but the kind I ordered ended up being basically plain white. Anyone have any input for me? The only other option I can think of is to tear down the first four rows instead and do a two tone but I'd rather find something that at least was close to this. Thanks!

Comments (12)Hi Vandana, although we agree with some points Minipie mentioned, but we think glossy marble in the house is just beautiful. Concerns that it feels cold can easily be solved by installing underfloor heating. And the fact that is glossy, we agree it can be slippery, but in the living room we presume you will have a nice big rug to make it cozy and non-slippery, but in the kitchen, that glossy finish will make it much easier to clean the floor. 7 years agoWe ran the mosaic up to the bottom of the second row, looks like you have about 12"ish to tile. I won't disturb any more tile than you need to. You could even cap the mosaic off with a pencil liner or a chair rail to make the transition from mosaic to wall tile.
