Can you please tell me where you got the dining chairs for the house "Woodland way". I love them.

Hello, the chairs are incredibly comfortable and perfect for a busy family. They are the HAY 'About a hay chairs' and can be purchased from Aram and Heals. Kind Regards

Ok, so 52 inches is just about 133 cms which will give you ample room to seat two 'standard' width chairs between the legs of the table. Most dining chairs are around 50cms wide and this would give the following spacing table leg > 11cm > chair > 11cm > chair > table leg. When we are working out what size table someone may need, or how many chairs they would like to seat, we usually work on spacing of no less than 5cm around any chair - this is still comfortable elbow/leg room. So if you work on this basis, of going no less than 5cm, the chairs you will eventually find for your table should be no more than 59cm wide. So don't forget to always carry a tape measure when you are out and about! You never know when you are going to come across the chairs you want. I hope this helps

Prior to painting give them a thorough sand and use a good primer suitable for wood. Sonia is right that there are some great furniture paints the will endure. However have you considered sanding and revarnishing? There are plenty of varnishes to choose from - some are clear and others contain dyes, giving you plenty of choice about the result. Whatever you decide take your time over the work to get the best results.
