Bedroom design Block!
Hi all, we have recently moved into a new flat and I went a bit overboard getting dark brown fitted wardrobes with same coloured bedsides. We have a beige bed as it bought it would be a nice contrast with the dark brown. I don't like the way it looks now and am not sure of what colours to use. I need a feature wall to make the bed pop but not sure about colours. I was initially thinking different shades of brown and some gold or copper stuff. Or maybe just introduce some lime green. The bedcovers will change to a more neutral colour. They are just temp. Any ideas about colour scheme and decor would be much appreciated.

Comments (6)I also don’t think you can live there while it’s being done. I think you should look into raising the roof then connecting the main house roof to the roof of the kitchen wing. I also don’t think you need to remove what looks like a top end conservatory. But you do need to find a good architect to help discuss what is possible and you need to think about your budget as it’s a big undertaking. Comments (3)In my opinion you can’t create more rooms than you have windows. So you should give the larger master bedroom to the children and divide it with furniture or screens that can easily be removed by the next people. You would then take the bedroom with the balcony or you would use this space as a living room, make an aperture to the kitchen then add a partition wall to the living end of the kitchen to annex a new bedroom. 7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoI like the idea of the green, maybe not full on lime green, but slightly more sagey. Also, change the window blind for something less utilitarian to match in with the bedroom and to soften the look. Add a rug, a large mirror above the bed maybe to bounce the light as the furniture is quite dark.
Changing the blind will make a big difference and adding curtains either side will start to make the room look a lot cosier.

7 years agoHi. I also agree re the bed. I'd go for more of an opulent feel. Rather than use wallpaper as a feature wall consider a panel of wallpaper just around the bed to make that the focal point. I quite like the idea of something like a peacock wallpaper with some rich colours, fabrics and textures for the bed. I haven't used it but Craig and rose do a velvet Matt paint for the walls which may be worth looking at for some texture. I'd also change the blinds, a Roman blind hung outside the recess perhaps in silk. I'd add a large mirror on the wall opposite the bed to make the room feel wider. Do you have a pic of the other end of the room?
