Bathroom extension

I live in a semi detached 3 bedroom house.. The kitchen was extended a long time ago, and a new slate roof put on. However the bathroom was not extended, and is not large enough. Have thought about extending the bathroom out over the kitchen, but cost is the main thing, that is holding me back. I want a bath and a shower so I can enjoy the bathroom. Any ideas on how much this would cost or would it be worth it?
