Have I made a huge mistake on tiles
Hi,
its my first full house renovation and the first room was the ensuite. I wanted marble but felt like it was too bling so I wanted to put a twist on it. I've picked my tiles but I am not to sure if I have made a huge mistake. It's either going to be fab or a complete disaster.
inwanted marble and concrete effect. The marble hexagon is going on the floor and the plain tile is going on the walls. I don't know if I should take the plunge and have all 4!walls tiles so it's clean lines as possible. I am going to be hanging a really unique distressed mirror on the wall so I thought it would be good for that to be against the destrsses tile.
Would love your thoughts.

7 years agoThanks thanks for your comments it's reassuring. I can't seem to hisahebthe room that the problem.Here is my plan, would you tile the whole room or just do the shower area or tile the whole room.

Comments (57)Looks like an old thread but l'd like to comment anyway. Leave it as is. This is a great Mediterranean look. The grout is fine - a white grout would look rather blank here, and l'm so glad the mirror is simple and you placed it on a simple wood backing. The concrete basin stand adds an understated industrial touch whilst the style of the porcelain fittings is perfectly timeless and l like taps too. The shower sure does need a glass screen to keep water from raining all over the place! You could make the blue pop out further by using a combination of grey and two blues in your towels. Comments (6)No problem. Fix a block of wood to the wall where you want to fit your brackets. Get the thickness of the wood right then your brackets will fix over it. Then at either end do the same to bring the pole out to the same distance from the wall all along. Comments (10)Hi, I don't think it will dominate the space once the unit is painted/tiled. At the moment, the reason it seems to stick out is due to the colour contrast between the green and plaster. If you tile it/ paint it a similar shade to the tiles, it will blend in and look a part. Comments (6)I feel for you. Our architect made an error on our extension, after a few stressful conversation he admitted fault andd covered the costs with his insurance. I'm sure if yours has admitted fault then you won't be expected to cover the costs. Ask him what insurance he has for such situations. I hope you manage to resolve the issue. Good luck....See More

Project we worked on, the walls are now Graphite grey- the client actually painted the ceiling the same colour as the walls, it looks very effective! Unfortunately I don't have any 'after' pictures- but this should give you some ideas of how it might look in the same
