Georgian apartment kitchen cupboards colour dilemma
Comments (2)I agree with OnePlan, white sounds like a good option in this room. It can sometimes seem to be a bit cold, so i would probably go for a painted look rather than gloss finish and maybe warm it through with wood worktops (there are some excellent wood effect laminate worktops - take a look at the Duropal worktop range - these also come with an antibac finish, are very good with stains etc..) Let us know what you decide - good luck...See MoreAntique white kitchen cupboards, what colour skirting boards?
Comments (1)What did you decide to do paulinehenderson? I have a similar dilema - our walls are currently painted white (works well as it's a north-facing room), so I think white skirting might look too bare. Thinking about colour-matching to the Antique White, but not sure the contrast will be enough to work well - maybe a darker colour would be better?...See MoreKitchen cupboard paint colour
Comments (17)I don't know if you're painting this yourself but personally I might make some updates before doing so. Kitchens are very expensive to paint and I don't think its money well spent if you don't love the actual design (just going on your ideabook though so may be wrong). I think your canopy along with the "fillers"is wide enough to do similar this in the first pic? If you decide to remove the cupboards I would do something similar to the 2nd pic and probably add some form of shelves to bridge the space between the oven. i would also make the end of the island into bookshelves. I think once the decorative pillars and fillers between the base units are painted they will blend in. You could try shaded or shadow white and see how it works with the worktop but they're quite good colours for dark rooms. I would keep the island the same colour as the outer units. I do love inchrya blue but just wondering if a light colour will make the ceiling seem taller (although the blue won't make it any shorter than the red!). Unless needed for privacy I'd remove the blinds and maybe think about wooden shelves on the rhs...See MoreSlate grey kitchen
Comments (5)Just be careful that if you have grey fascias and grey walls it doesn’t look too cold and monotone. Upon saying that I have dove grey units and a very very pale grey on the walls which is soon to be swapped to Wevet which is almost white. Our kitchen adjoins the dining area though which has a wallpaper on one wall. It’s a case of each to their own....See More- 7 years ago
