Antique white kitchen cupboards, what colour skirting boards?
Comments (1)What did you decide to do paulinehenderson? I have a similar dilema - our walls are currently painted white (works well as it's a north-facing room), so I think white skirting might look too bare. Thinking about colour-matching to the Antique White, but not sure the contrast will be enough to work well - maybe a darker colour would be better?...See MoreKitchen Cupboard Colour Help
Comments (4)Hi. I'm not sure if you want to paint the units and island the same or perhaps paint the ŵall units a different colour to blend into the ŵalls? I would go for either a greige or a green to tie the cream and dark grey. F&B elephants breath is nice (can look dark in some rooms depending on the light though). it would also look nice paired with brinjal on the island although I may be tempted to change the worktop then :( Ball green or mizzle by F&B may also work. Little Greene have some lovely colours and would be my preferred paint choice for kitchen cabinets. Kitchen green is nice or maybe normandy green paired with theatre red for the island. Have you considered actually removing the ŵall units depending on how much storage you need and perhaps adding some shelves on the window side as I think it will really open up the space? If you're painting perhaps a change of handles? My personal choice would be just to remove the tiles and use washable paint on the ŵalls. You shouldn't get too many splashes with the upstand unless you're like me with an electric whisk and it depends where you do most of your prep work. It looks as if it will be a great room...See MoreNeed help for kitchen and sitting area design....
Comments (33)Hi so this is what I had in mind. Although it ideal I think it would be too expensive for now to remove that lone cupboard. So an idea would be; 1. Paint the walls white 2. Paint the cupboards pale grey: http://www.farrow-ball.com/paint/Paint-For-Kitchen-Cupboards 3. Get nice oak laminate floor from Homebase or B&Q 4. It may cost between £200 and £300 to fit the floor with underlay. But totally worth it. 5. Cheap grey sofa (maybe not corner sofa) or second hand sofa, max those dimensions on the plan. I bought two cheap ones from Homebase for our back room and they're totally fine. 6. Farmhouse table with bench / Eiffel chairs 7. Tv bench and side table from ikea 8. If you keep the freestanding fridge paint it with chalkboard paint. http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/wrust-oleum-black---chalkboard-paint---750ml-125028 I'll post some photos of the sort of look I had in mind....See MoreSlate grey kitchen
Comments (5)Just be careful that if you have grey fascias and grey walls it doesn’t look too cold and monotone. Upon saying that I have dove grey units and a very very pale grey on the walls which is soon to be swapped to Wevet which is almost white. Our kitchen adjoins the dining area though which has a wallpaper on one wall. It’s a case of each to their own....See More- 8 years ago
