Comments (28)something like this would work I think, it is a very soft colour...think dark reds will be too dark...or maybe a soft grey tartan or check , a duck egg colour would also be lovely and really lighten up the space without taking away the cost feel...hope this link works! http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cdn0.notonthehighstreet.com/system/product_images/images/001/189/535/original_plaid-wool-handmade-lampshade.jpg%253F1372866004&imgrefurl=http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/weftbespokedesign/product/plaid-wool-handmade-lampshade&h=900&w=900&tbnid=2t2-3YNnS_CtlM:&zoom=1&docid=Ucd_ov0Bw9kRvM&ei=Ku_UVNmFEMHmUsKyg6AF&tbm=isch&client=safari&ved=0CF4QMyhWMFY4yAE...See MorePlease help with cushions and throws for my king size bed!!
Comments (6)Hi Katie, I have attached an image that I think would help you lots (the first one). This is what I would go for to add some depth and contrast to the space. I would also go with similar for the bedside lamps.. having this dark element will really help lift the look. If you wanted to keep it lighter for personal style then maybe try (image two) a silvery look with different textures and patterns in silver, I would match this with silver or glass lamps with white shades. I hope it helps. Gina...See MoreWould curtains work?
Comments (11)Hi peachypear, what a lovely period room. Is that window a shash window? At first glance I would say that window is crying out for a Roman blind. The radiator below the window will hinder any curtains you put up and I think it will look too cluttered. Search on Houzz for photos of Roman blinds to give you some ideas. They look good inperiod and modern homes. If you don't want completely plain then there are loads of softly patterned fabrics which add texture without too much colour. You can then add colour, if you want to, with cushions, throws and pictures....See MorePink Curtains for Master Bedroom? need help ASAP
Comments (9)I'm not against it, it just depends what else is in the room etc and would repeat a little elsewhere to get the right balance as Jonathan said. I've just picked a few DG rooms (love their room sets!) but google more images to see what you think. These are all against light backgrounds but could look equally good on dark. I know in theory you "should" avoid vibrant colours in the bedroom but tbh you can't see them in the dark!...See MoreJudy M
