Help! Need a front door colour for our new build home!
Comments (5)You could do a red that blends with the brick, lick this: If your house is attached, try to maintain a mass look with your neighbor. Don't change trim or other details. Keep it consistant. If your neighbor likes the front door color then they could do it, too. Think of having one house where one door is one color and the other is another, the trim is one color in one section and another in the second section. I'm sure you get what I mean. But I think even if the neighbor wants to stay white, that would be OK. Another favorite on Houzz for front doors is blue. How about a dark blue like this: The right yellow would work: Or Black: Some colorful planters by the entry would also make you stand out - in a good way. Good luck!...See MoreWhat door style do you like best out of our new Composite door range?
Comments (2)I think the traditional look of the Winchester door is fantastic, the light/duck egg blue (pictured) is a lovely colour for an entrance....See MoreWhat should we do to update the front of our new home?
Comments (5)I agree - this house is true to its period. You could spend a fortune creating a different look but why? Take up a lot of that block paving and plant a garden. You’ll get a lot more pleasure from that than grey cladding or whatever. With the added bonus that when you look out through your large windows, you’ll actually see what you spent your money on....See MoreImprovements to the front of my ex council semi
Comments (14)Thanks Sonia, I was thinking of a little canopy too. I wonder if anyone knows if they block off much light? The only thing is my entrance is fairly dark so don't want to make it darker. I like the look of canopy though and my husband can make a nice one for us. GJ Dee, thank you, like you say I need to balance practicality with appearance, I spend hours in the back garden already and I'm super busy with work so I can't do anything crazy high maintenance or it'll end up looking worse if I can't keep on top of it. Tamp75, it's north facing at our front, my plants take so much longer to grow than in our back garden but I'll have a think about what I can do 😊 Thanks everyone, you've all been so kind and given great ideas....See Moreminnie101
