Shower curtain liners

Sounds like a silly question, but does anyone know where to get hold of non-pvc shower curtain liners? We had some linen/material ones but are unable to get the same ones and it seems almost impossible to find liners that aren't horrible and clingy plastic.

Hi there! Hemp, linen, cotton, birch are good non-pvc alternatives, as for where to buy them - I'd take a look on John Lewis, Amazon, eBay, M&S and Wayfair to start. Hope that helps, keep me updated if you aren't able to find one!

Thanks Isidora. It's the liners that we are after though, not the actual shower curtains. There are lots of curtain types, but all the separate liners are horrible plastic ones.

my bathroom was this exact shape and had the window too. I got a shower blind. It attaches to the ceiling and rolls down like a window blind. The casing is metal and the roller blind is plastic. you can get a long arm and a short arm to join together to fit above the length if the bath and the end of the bath. I had mine roll down to the long side and the short end beside the sink. If you Google for shower blinds you should find it. I think it was a German company that made them. worked really well and after it had dried you could roll it up to the ceiling out of the way.

Roller shower blinds have been available for quite a while - we had one years ago at a previous house and it worked really well. Although it was white, it didn't mark at all in the 5 years for which we used it, although we were careful to wipe off any stray blobs of shower gel/shampoo and leave it down for a short while after showering so that it could dry/air off but it did just seem shrug off any water. Weighted rods at the bottom kept the blind hanging straight down and it didn't get sucked towards you like a shower curtain does. The rods were in three pieces - a longer one in the middle and two shorter ones at the ends so that the blind could follow the curve of the tub at the short ends. This arrangement meant that no water escaped the bath tub. It looked neat and unobtrusive when wound back into the cassette. Shower screens take much more looking after, in my experience, so I wouldn't choose to have another one. If I remember, our blind was relatively expensive compared to a shower curtain, but the looks, the ease of use and hardly any maintenance requirements made up for that. Out blind was still in pristine condition when we moved out. The next house had a separate glass shower cubicle - nightmare! Current new-ish home has a good quality, weighted shower curtain but will soon have a new shower blind. IMHO, you wouldn't regret getting one too.

I did exactly this in my last ensuite. And loved it. Actually I think yours is.ceiling mounted, the one I had was reset in, flush with the plaster. Anyways I bought mine from a curtain supplier :D Just let them know where it's going and you want hanging from it.

"PEVA" non-pvc is a liner I've seen available both on John Lewis/eBay, though I'm not sure what material it is made from, just that it's pvc-free.

Unfortunately PEVA is also a plastic/pvc type compound. I think I may have found some polyester ones though which are waterproof but more of a material-like quality. Thanks for getting back to me anyway.
