Need help with the furniture/arrangement of the living room!
Comments (8)Black and White never goes out of style and the light in your room is killer! If you're into something chic and interesting find the artwork first. It does not have to be expensive at all. Color and size will be the most important things to focus on. To tie the fireplace and the cabinet together, use several pieces of art, maybe a mirror, and one or two white objects hung on the wall. One piece of art (a poster, print, or photo) should be larger than the rest and hung over the FP. Then build the arrangement out to include the wall over your cabinet. Treat the cabinet like a Bar by placing a tray and drinkware on top. I think that putting furniture in a loose and casual arrangement will look awsome and allow you to move things around according to the occassion. A loveseat with a curvy back and unmatched chairs will keep it feeling open and light. An animal hide rug and one tall floor lamp swooping over from the side of the window and giving you light at the center of the room might work for you. When you have a group of people coming say for dinner, a round expandable table in the alcove can be a plus. All the best with your place, it's killer!...See MoreNeed help decorating and arranging our living room!
Comments (5)Hi. How about this attempt for layout assuming the fire is boarded up? The sofa would be about 8ft from the tv. (There is leg room between the sofas and I drew the coffee table too far away but ignore that!), Tv can go on the wall or on a cabinet or on the wall with a console underneath and art and decorative pieces around it. Personally I wouldn't put the desk by the bay as you'd be blocking light with a screen. Would it work where the table currently is with a desk lamp?If you need storage, I'd put bits away in a cabinet or get a desk with drawers. Cafe shutters would be good or if on a budget wooden blinds can look good or voile blinds. In terms of style, what do you like? Maybe scandi or soft industriał with white boards or a mix of the two or??...See MoreHow to arrange furniture in living room and art above couch

Comments (10)Keiblem is absolutely right. Set the room up with the plan you have and live with it for a while. If it doesn’t suit after a while, think again and then plan a change. If you live with it and think it’s ok, then still review the layout, because you may find a better solution with some thought and some investment. A couple of things to consider. Would the radiator spoil the console table if it went in the bay window, or would the table either block the view or the heat from the radiator? Is the view from the window a nice one and do you want to consider how you can enjoy it when you orientate the room?...See MoreCarolina
