Front door, dark or light?
Comments (49)I think you should stay within house style. Contemporary design may be too much. Color should match with your house facades and windows. Maybe something like this? Solid wooden door with glass in the middle. Graffiti grey color. Could be quite good match with any colours (specially with your bricks facade)....See MoreI would like some ideas on updating the front of my house
Comments (11)hello, it depends on how much of it you want to change, we've all been there, decorated a room or something, then changed our minds a year later, so I'm of the view that basic colours work the best...I've done it with many gardens keep the colours basic then add on..you could do as little as spend £50 to transform your garden. If your house was mine and I had an unlimited budget I'd concrete and paint the wall white, put a palm where the shrub is in a white square planter, and repaint the woodwork, I do like the idea of grey but it would depend on if you are keeping it all the same colour. I don't agree with the Tudor comments, your house is quite new, why would you want it to look old..but of course we all have different tastes... Personally I love buildings painted white, fresh looking concrete with tropicals in the garden, I have a 6 foot Australian tree fern and bananas in my garden, there's nothing like sitting out there in the summer, I love it......See MoreFront of house advice
Comments (4)I love a Tudor-style home (we used to live in one in the States). This house is gorgeous! We actually had similar colours in the States and painted our door a green colour (similar to the attached). It's Green Smoke from Farrow & Ball and I also attached an image showing some colours it goes well with (your house colours). I love a painted door and finding a colour you like adds some of your personality to the front of the house (and might even make you happy every time you see it:). Good luck...it's a beautiful home!...See MoreMock Tudor facade improvements - help!
Comments (3)Hi, there was a similar query on here previously. I can’t seem to post the link but if you search on Houzz for ‘mock Tudor external’, you should find it. There are some nice examples of beams painted in soft greys / neutrals....See Morebhensa
