Guest bedroom colour

Hi all, first post here...

Am looking for ideas to turn my spare room into guest bedroom. Have completely blank canvas, walls are natural calico, cream carpet.

Only furniture/fixings are a cream slatted blind across medium window and a plain white oak double bed.

Need ideas for colour theme, and whether to paint or just add via accessories - light fitting/bed linen/art/cushions etc

Hi there,

I think it's always good to keep a guest bedroom neutral, but that's just me. Do you have any photos you could share so we can get a better sense of colours, dimensions/the space in general?

Hi. Nice paper but as the room is east facing the silver may look just a little cold? If you do go for a pale but warm stone on the walls I might go for a stone wallpaper. This one is cream but may work as the pattern looks to be in stone (but will look elsewhere). I really like the idea of papering just behind the bed (missed that before, thought you just meant the bed ŵall!) but I do think you'll need to build a frame for it from beading but that will be cheap to do. I wouldn't go excessively low on the light just for people sitting up/climbing into bed but you should get away with slightly lower than normal. Ivory painted wood bedside table and matching large chest of drawers to be put in room, small table in photo to be put beside chair at other end of the room. I wanted dark wood but hubby wants light oak. Will have white bedding with taupe quilt so thought the dark wood would look better.

I found the Dulux Visualator, or whatever it’s called, to be pretty useless. I used it once to visualise my old sitting room colour just to see how accurate it was. My walls were Dulux Elderflower so compared it on the Dulux online thingy and it was completely different!
