Need advice on Victorian bay window with lathe underneath render

Hi, We are renovating our living room and got the wall injected with damp proof course. The wall needs to be re-rendered up to 1 metre but the when we removed the render we discovered lathe underneath - see photos attached. I've read online that this is a building technique used by the Victorians to allow airflow. I'd like to fix the wall in a way that will keep the breathability of the wall and remain true to the Victorian structure. Has anyone come across this before and got advice on how to repair it? Or any suggestions on how best to do this? Thanks Janice
