Thank you! Would you mind sharing the dimensions of the island? how much space between island and cooktop?

I was checking the cabinet supplier invoice to see if they put the dimensions on it - but unfortunately it was not included. You can probably "guestimate" based upon the chairs there - taking the average width of a chair into consideration. Plus the butcher block top is oversized to create a seating area. As for space between the island and the countertop by the back wall - I believe it's about 40".

That's more then enough space between the island and bifold door, and the island and the sink, not to worry. For your peace of mind, the island can be moved around before the final stage of installation, so just stand in front of it and check the distance, open the doors especially the dishwasher door and see if you can move around comfortably. If you are happy then let them finish the work. We had to move this whole island with the quartz as the ceiling lights were fitted slightly to the left.

The oven will be opposite the corner of the island actually :0/ oops. Although we are having a 1100 to 1200 aisle between them so might not be so bad? Another reason to move it over slightly would be that the visual wall would start where the lower run is so it might not look so odd being off centre to the rear wall? Also the extractor is off centre as well. Decisions decisions... Sink vs hob on island ... Read loads about this but for us, the main question was really:- What you want the island for? ie if socialising, then definitely a hob as you spend more time cooking than just washing the veg so you would always have your back turned away from guests. We don’t have kids though and don’t intend to so don’t have to worry about kids sitting on the island and pulling pans off the hob etc etc.

Not due if you mean you want an island like this? 120 cm wide, 120cm length would be needed minimum just for the seating area side. That's assuming you would use a 60cm wide base unit in middle opening at side. Never saw anything like that to be honest. If you have island with seating on both sides you would need almost 2 m gap behind it if you were having units behind it so you could get by if someone was sitting at island

I prefer the island option. im not sure what you want/need to include but it appears (by eye) to give the greatest amount of space. I’d reduce the island to 900mm and give the extra space between the units. You could have the plumbed appliances on the island and seating like this with a 300mm overhang for the stools. This kitchen is longer than yours but i think a tad wider assuming the tiles are 600. The island could be a lighter colour than the other units making it feel a but wider
