back French door set next to Sliding Door set - georgian bars or not?

We are doing an extension and are getting new cream woodgrain upvc windows all around, except keeping timber at front. All windows will have thin internal Georgian bars. In the new dining room we are putting a set of French doors with side panes next to a Sliding Door Set with side panes. The question is, do we put Georgian bars in any of them (just the side glass panels), or none at all??

Meant to add, there are no other windows in the dining room, just the 2 door sets.

Personally no Georgian bars on the doors, but its personal preference. If its just the doors and no windows in the dining area it should look fine, and will have a complete clear view out?

Thanks to all of you for your advice. I think we're going to forget the bifold option. We currently have a step down into the garden from inside & I think bifolds look better when they open up onto an outdoor area that is level with inside tho that is just my opinion! Now considering the option of sliding doors. I'd like them to open from the middle with two panes sliding back (like supermarket doors but without the auto opening! ) can anyone recommend a supplier? I actually think French doors would suit our bungalow more but don't like that you only get a limited opening area because of the size of the actual doors.

Fiona - I’ve been looking into replacing some doors with Crittal style and have contacted loads of suppliers and companies. The one that I’ve been most impressed with is the company mentioned above by Lou Valdini - Merlin Windows in Yorkshire. (I’m in the East Midlands). They gave me a competitive quote really quickly and then I got a quote from the fitter mentioned. (They fit across the UK and they link in with Merlin to ensure timings etc). It’s likely that we will go ahead in the next few months. (Just need to convince husband as he prefers chunky timber 😂)

Hi Tani, I am sorry, I missed your message earlier. In this heat wave it has been very hot, particularly as we are south facing. The sliding roof lights above have been fantastic as you can let out all that hot rising air and it with all the doors open and roof lights, it feels just right! We have 4 roof lights that are 1m x 2m each. The sliding doors are 7.4m and 3.4m. The room is 10m by 6.5m. Minipie, ODC were good at first, but they lost interest in me and I ended up buying the same sliding doors a couple of weeks later from another company for a much cheaper price. I also got it colour matched at the RAL colour for the same price! It's worth shopping around.

Hi, The grey doors on the end, are they bifolds? I think if you match the style of these then it will look great. I don't mind mixing modern with traditional and actually it may look better to match the grey rather than leaving those end doors as the odd ones out. Do what suits your interior style.

Yes it is just the doors in the dining area, and no windows. So we are going with no bars at all. Thanks for your confirmation!
