What sort of vanity unit would suit this bathroom?

Hi

I am currently doing my bathroom very similar to the one in the photo. Similar tiles and colour scheme too. In order to hide pipes I need to pick a vanity sink unit instead of a pedestal sink. Any idea what sort of vanity unit would suit? I like the look of ones where the sink sits on top but not sure. I'm really struggling to find something that fits with the scheme so any ideas would be appreciated. Size wise it needs to be maximum 8000mm wide. Thank you

I think that something like either of these would work well. Fairly simple shape and painted wood.

Hi All - taking on board your comments I have come up with three variations. Of course would love your comments! The distance from vanity to WC in plan 1 is approx 60cm - it could be made a bit more. This falls within the guideline you posted (23inches). More space could be created by making the shower a bit narrower (shown on all 3 plans as 1m wide (39 inches). I don't think there is quite enough space to divide the room and the problem with the idea of the bath right in the middle is that on a practical basis we would have to walk around it on a daily basis to get to the shower! Could quickly get very annoying!

Another possibility would be to install a standard, white toilet bowl with concealed cistern and get the seat in a custom colour to suit your bathroom. It would probably be cheaper than a coloured toilet and might solve your problem. Good luck and please post a picture of your finished bathroom. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Toria - are you able to take some more recent photos that show a little more of the room? Your last post mentions mixing a colour for below the picture rail, but I can’t see a picture rail in the photo. Can I also ask a delicate question - I’ve read your post several times and appreciate the emotional ties, but what is the purpose of this makeover? Is this a house that you personally live in and will remain in, or are you preparing to put it on the market? The outcome of that question could result in different suggestions! If you intend to remain in the house, go with whatever makes you happy. Sadly, if the aim is to get it into a sellable condition, buyers are likely to want as neutral as possible because the reality is that they may very well rip it out and start again. For what it’s worth, I think your blue tones are not quite muted enough - they are all quite bright. I’m also not sure about having the peachy colours with the blue colours, one above the other separated by a picture rail or dado rail. You might be better sticking to just one colour throughout - especially as you have a coloured suite plus the tiles. Any more than that could look very busy (unless it’s a huge bathroom!!).

how about continue boxing all the way to the window and use it to house concealed shower pipes and taps also. adding a niche for shampoo and soaps / candles. to have a mirror cabinets above the sink and toilet and under sink cabinet. also fill the gap on the other side of the bath adding a cabinet for laundry / cleaning stuff.

I am in the middle of doing a similar style bathroom. I picked up an antique washstand for hardly any money on eBay with a marble top. I painted it french grey and am putting a freestanding basin and taps on it. It takes a bit of time an effort to make good and paint, but if you have the time it saves a lot of money and you have something that looks far better than off the peg modern versions.
