selecting curtain fabric to match a nice tweed & leather sofa
Comments (28)something like this would work I think, it is a very soft colour...think dark reds will be too dark...or maybe a soft grey tartan or check , a duck egg colour would also be lovely and really lighten up the space without taking away the cost feel...hope this link works! http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cdn0.notonthehighstreet.com/system/product_images/images/001/189/535/original_plaid-wool-handmade-lampshade.jpg%253F1372866004&imgrefurl=http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/weftbespokedesign/product/plaid-wool-handmade-lampshade&h=900&w=900&tbnid=2t2-3YNnS_CtlM:&zoom=1&docid=Ucd_ov0Bw9kRvM&ei=Ku_UVNmFEMHmUsKyg6AF&tbm=isch&client=safari&ved=0CF4QMyhWMFY4yAE...See MoreNeed advice on my living room colour wise I have a brown leather sofa
Comments (2)Hi andykate1, With darker rooms it is best to stick to a light colour palette that will make the room feel more expansive and open. Opting for a fresh neutral tone such as ‘Rocksalt’ will give the room an uplifted feel and make any dark room feel airy and balanced. ‘Rocksalt’ is a modern mid-tone that fits in between grey and white- not as stark as bright white and not as deep as grey. Why not create a beautiful feature of the main wall within the room? ‘Sun Dust 2’ is a lovely warm tone of golden yellow and is sure to bring in personality to the space and help the whole room feel ‘more together’. This can also be a colour to bring through in accessories and dressing the room. Try also using a co-ordinating colour with your accessories that will finish the scheme such as a rich navy. I'd suggest this gorgeous patterned rug from John Lewis, as it's sure to bring a cosy element to the scheme and adds dramatic interest: http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-kalkan-rug-multi Adding textures to your sofa breaks up the dark colour and gives a homely feel, here are two I love!: http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-pebble-cushion http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-tamaki-cushion Finally, it wouldn't feel like autumn without a place to rest your feet in front of the fire; introducing a pouffe or footstool could be a really lovely idea: http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-diamond-shadow-pouffe Good luck decorating - It'll be so worth it on those cosy autumn nights to have a living room that feels like your sanctuary! Comments (7)Hello there! I agree with you, I'd avoid trying to match the curtain fabric with your blue sofas/Persian rugs. It could make the room look quite dark overall, and also overshadow the beautiful rugs. You have such a lovely large window and as you have a privacy films over the bottom halves, why not try a light fabric, perhaps a voile or plain cotton fabric such as in the images below? I can't work out the exact colour on your walls, but if they are a warmer neutral paint then a warm toned creamier plain fabric will look best. White could be too stark. Here are a few fabric options, but there's plenty more to choose from on our retail website: http://www.janeclayton.co.uk/product/sevillewashable/125012 http://www.janeclayton.co.uk/product/linosoii/114217 http://www.janeclayton.co.uk/product/criste/122976 http://www.janeclayton.co.uk/product/kelso/124104 A wooden pole (if the window width allows!!) would also look amazing: http://www.janeclayton.co.uk/poles-and-tracks/wooden Good luck! :) Jess...See MoreLiving Room Sofa / Chairs / Dining Table
Comments (12)Tbh I’d have just one of those chairs and bring it down to the rhs of the sofa, set into the room slightly, two other smaller dining chairs to replace the first choice ones, your getting the table anyway so you need chairs, I think these are to big for dining chairs and certainly for a small table, other thing is, when you sitting in them what are your going to be doing? To far away to easily socialise with anyone on the far side of the sofa, difficult angle to see the tv, just my thoughts :-)...See More- 6 years agolast modified: 6 years ago
