Comments (2)Hi, For some reason, my answer was cut off before I'd finished it! Sorry, You have some interesting questions. Personally, unless you have experience of floor sanding, I think that it's best left to the professionals. Whilst you can hire exactly the same sanders that they use, it is very easy to damage a floor by pausing too much when changing direction and creating a dip in the floor with the large belt sander. The edging sanders are pretty easy to use, the problem is that it will take an absolute age to sand a floor with them. Normal smaller or DIY type sanders simply won't create the same quality of finish and you will be there for ever trying to do a whole floor. Hiring professionals to sand the floor shouldn't be particularly expensive and will certainly be cheaper than replacing any damage that you do to the floor trying it yourself. Comments (6)As with our rooms, having clutter lying around can severely hamper our ability to see a space. My suggestion would be to firstly clear it up. You can then start to see what the space could be. A coat of paint on the shed, neigbours wall and right the way under the windows to unify the space would be a start, perhaps a sagey greeny grey? Then gravel over the concrete path and some of the lawn (prepping properly of course). Pots of different shape and sizes but all painted the same colour with evergreens and flowers in with a couple of bistro chairs and a table would be quite pretty too....See MoreHow do I decorate my walls?
Comments (4)That is a lovely room. You already have elements such as the sofa, cushions and blankets there that can influence your choice. Even the brass of the lights could inspire. I agree the mirror doesn’t work. I would be inclined to find it a home elsewhere. I like the wall lights either side and wonder if a very long narrow painting or textile such as a rug might take your eye up to the ceiling. You have some geometric blankets and cushions that may help guide you. Or go for a Persian runner. Have you tried the Farrow and Ball website for inspiration? They have lots of paint colour suggestions and palettes to choose from and images of amazing rooms to further whet your appetite. They even offer a consultation.
