Need help choosing range colour, wall colour and tiles in kitchen
Comments (27)Update - alabaster painted oak units, oak worktop, (curved end units and worktop corners) belfast sink, 1100 stainless steel rangemaster porcelain large high gloss ivory 600x600 floor tiles, ivory grout - please see attached look book just still to decide on shade of sage on walls - deciding between F&B Mizzle, Vert De Terre, Ball Green and Cooking Apple Green... Also metro sub/way tiles on walls - whether to go for a sage tile or cream/white... The dining room area off the kitchen will have oak parquet floor which will follow through from hall and will also be in the lounge but Im thinking of following the wall colour in the kitchen through to the dining room for continuity and potentially painting the chimney brest or wall furthest away from and facing the kitchen a darker green complementary colour... Thoughts please...See More(Urgent) Which colour cast iron bed frame please help
Comments (33)I tend to go on ebay for cheap poly/cotton duvet covers, which don't last as long as linen but allows me to change my room a bit cheaply and easily. However, I've never noticed just how gendered bedding is, nor how horrible the 'masculine' options are. Single colour tartan duvet cover or camoflage? Euuuch. I did find a few nice duvet covers which didn't feature flowers, butterflies or 'bling'. How about a map? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Catherine-Lansfield-Maps-Reversible-King-Size-Duvet-Set-/221821393749?hash=item33a595db55 or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-England-Wales-Scotland-Ireland-Europe-Map-Atlas-Globe-DUVET-COVER-/191544872397?hash=item2c98f6cdcd Or a map of the London Underground would add some more colour, if you liked them - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/London-Underground-Tube-Map-Reversible-Duvet-Quilt-Cover-Bedding-Set-/191398466427?hash=item2c903cd37b or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LONDON-UNDERGROUND-KING-SIZE-DUVET-BEDDING-SET-BRAND-NEW-PILLOWCASES-DUVET-/301697031417?hash=item463e8b5cf9 A plain cotton or linen cover would be a safer option, but you can also end up with a room lacking personality that way. If you do go for plain, try to choose some nice pictures for the walls instead....See MoreHelp new kitchen units don't look right
Comments (10)In my personal opinion, the issue is that you have some lovely traditional freestanding pieces and the modern cabinets just don't go with them. I'd either look to paint them all the same colour or go for something that's more of a contrast. If you can't afford to change the cabinet doors to a more traditional style, then maybe just change the handles to something that's more in tune with the freestanding stuff? If you paint the cabinets, try Everlong paint, it'll go over anything without sanding or priming. My final piece of advice would be to introduce a pop of colour. Choose one colour and get some inexpensive accessories like canisters, towels, bowls etc. A warm yellow really pops against pale grey and would brighten the space....See MoreKitchen paint colours - we need help!!
Comments (31)I'm so sorry, but I've only just seen your posts and all your hard work with the mock ups!!! I didn't get notified. Thank you so much this is so helpful!!! Seeing the Photoshop mocks ups makes us realise we don't want to go two tone on the edge cabinets and like the lighter grey. Unfortunately the job hood needs to stay as we can't get it out. We would love to have a modern one added, it's just not doable without taking all the units out. We have painted the window wall which looks fab (well we think so!), picture below. We're considering ammonite or cornforth on the outside cabinets (posts included) and downpipe on the island. We're not 100% convinced the downpipe will work? What do you think? Is there any possibility anyone could use their amazing skills to demonstrate these colours please? outside cupboards ammonite and island downpipe outside cupboards and island ammonite and if anyone can really be bothered the same as above but with cornforth instead of ammonite! Thank you for your time!...See MoreJuliet Docherty
