Colour to go with F&B 'Railings'...?
Comments (18)Hi Jackie, Here is a closeup photo of the wall upstairs with the pictures illuminated with a spotlight in the ceiling. As our hallway is very small, it's hard to get a good zoomed out photo, but I'll put one up when I get a chance. The house is still a work in progress, but downstairs we are going to build a recess into the wall and sit an orange glass vase in it. This contrasts really well against the Railings.... Lighting wise, I assume that you have an attic above the hall. Is it boarded or do you have access to the ceiling and wiring still? If this is the case, you can get an electrician to fit spots for you after decorating is complete if you need a bit more light in there. Do you get much natural light into the hall? I can see in your photo that the front door is solid, is there a window next to it? Our front door is partially glazed and faces West. We get the evening sun through the door and it changes the Railings colour from dark grey to a much lighter Bluey green grey : ) Thanks, Peter...See Morehelp! white paint for north east facing sitting room
Comments (7)We used white cotton in our north facing room which is lovely and light but not as strong as brilliant white. Skimming stone and cornforth white are also lovely shades but a bit more to them than just a standard white. We always paint a tester in the room we're going to decorate, as its amazing how a grey can look like it has hints of lilac in a different light. Also allows you to check it doesn't clash with the flooring colour (a friend of mine recently had decorators in only to realise after the walls didn't compliment the carpet). Good luck on your project....See MoreQuick Q - what is F&B 'Off Black' like??
Comments (28)The OH sprayed our kitchen cabinets with a professional spray gun, but he did have all of the proper specialist masks and protective clothing etc. He set up a spray booth - inside while the kitchen was being remodelled and then outside in a gazebo once the kitchen had the flooring done. The finish was excellent and where we've needed to touch up, he's just done it with slightly watered down paint on a sponge or brush. We've rollered and brushed units before and spraying gives by far the best finish and soooooo much quicker. We went for F&B Oval Room Blue - the reason being the F&B paints are perfect for use with a spray gun, whereas a lot of "matched" paint doesn't spray as well and clogs the gun. Doesn't the kitchen manufacturers have a standard colour you like or could you choose a RAL colour you like. Alternatively, wouldn't the manufacturers just paint it with F&B paint for you?...See MoreF&B Scotch blue ??????
Comments (25)That's a very good question. I actually haven't been in there recently. The OH has been working from home since before lockdown and he isn't the tidiest of people, so I've left him pretty much to it. It's his space, if he makes it a tip, that's on him. However, as there appears to be enquiring minds wanting to know, I've just asked him how it looks and he's said it's okay (?) :-( ...............But we all know that a lot of blokes have a very different definition of okay to that of a female. He's disappointed with the Billys, as they're not quite up to snuff because he wasn't able to get the glass shelves during lockdown. So I've dispatched him to take some pictures, so we'll see....See Moreianthy
