Window dressing bay and side window
Comments (1)We've recently had full length curtains in our bay window and a matching Roman blind at the small window. Our small window is not on the same wall as the bay, but it looks really good. We splashed out on made to measure and it was worth every penny....See MoreLiving room furniture layout help! Bay window & fireplace.
Comments (8)How wide is the bay? (Not convinced the plan is entirely accurate if the previous people had a sofa on the left wall?). Ignore the furniture choice, was trying to find photos at the right angle! I might do something like this. You may also be able to have another chair on the left wall. If you go for an upholstered footstool you have more seating when needed and I’d choose a low back sofa so it’s not poking over the top of the window sill. If you don’t want the sofa to impose on the room too much, choose a colour that doesn’t contrast with the walls too much. Perhaps choose a rug that is large enough for all of the front feet of the furniture to sit on. You can always use masking tape to mark out the exact size of furniture....See MoreTo bay or not to bay? What should I do with my bay window???
Comments (13)It would be a shame to remove such an unusual bay window. Very few windows go right down to the floor like this. In many ways this creates quite a modern look as well as being a beautiful original feature. Have you thought about extending directly out from the kitchen, incorporating the utility (and maybe part of the covered passage?). This could be 2 storey with lots of glazing/bifold doors to the garden with lovely views back of your spectacular bay window. Take the wall down between the kitchen and bay window room to make it all open plan whilst retaining an interesting shape. If you still want a separate utility this could be put into the rear area of the garage, maybe with a WC. Upstairs, you could put in a shower room in part of the existing bedroom 3 next to the bathroom and with the extension it would be a good size bedroom, probably large enough to be the master with dressing room area. This should help to increase the value of the house by creating what everyone wants for a master bedroom....See MoreReplace bow window with bay window
Comments (5)Bay windows offer a great opportunity for more light into a room. Perhaps you can share photos so people can visualise what you require/what you have now? We offer a range of bespoke Bay Window curtain poles, made to measure when the time comes for you to dress your new space. Best wishes...See Morepdando
