Kitchen re-design

I am tired of the traditional brown coloured doors in my kitchen. Looks so dated. I would like to paint them in a different colour. The floor in the kitchen is cream tiles. The surfaces are also cream colour. The kitchen is fairly large with a breakfast bar in the middle. The walls are white and the horizontal blinds are light cream. What colour do you advise I should paint the doors. Thank you for your help

Hello, it's so tricky for us to advise on colour and it's such a personal thing and we would hate to advise you on a colour and you end up not liking it! There are lots of projects on our website that sound like they have similar coloured floors and walls etc to your kitchen, so I think the best thing we could advise is to have a little look through our website and see which kitchens you like the look of. Hi kirsty. Do you need the 3 beds and an extra ensuite? The cost of moving the soil pipe to the other end of the house may be pretty expensive. I also think if you put an ensuite in you probably need a sink otherwise you'll still need to use the bathroom (you may also need to by law but am just guessing on that!) personally i would also arrange the living area to include a round table to seat at least 4. Maybe you could squeeze an "en suite" adjacent to the bathroom if you take some of the storage space too?. You will be left with a long narrow corridor but should be cheaper. You could also extend out next to the bathroom but then need to get light into that bedroom. Or using plan c extend out a little above the loo to include a sink. You could also remove the chimney in the back bedroom to allow for easier furniture arrangement.

Sand everything down, give it all a good wipe down with a damp cloth to remove dust. Prime twice and top coat twice - Use Satinwood in a kitchen or gloss, both water based. Depends whether you want super shiny ( glosss ) or soft sheen ( satinwood )- both have the longevity you need. I'm doing a kitchen at the moment. It's easier, faster and gives a better finish if you take all the doors off, paint the carcasses etc. I roller doors where I can, gives a better finish. ( using little gloss rollers ). When everything's dry put the doors back on.

I do feel that sometimes, that a lot of "designers" attached to/associated with retailers don't necessarily listen and understand the needs or wants of the buyer, but are more about just fitting their product in the space - often irrespective if it's the best use of that space or the most pragmatic solution. I often think that if more people were to be brave enough to grasp the nettle and design their own kitchens (apologies to OnePlan!), those poor designers may up their game.

There are, 99% of the time, many ways to design a kitchen. We don’t sell kitchens, but we design lots and lots - and almost all of these are designed with the end users in on the design process . This might be something that would work for you - to be a part of designing the space - then when the design is complete, you simply shop around and ask places to quote using that same design .
