Beautiful sink, what is the material ? And where is this from, very interested in such a finish.

Hi Adrian, thank you very much for your comment. This beautiful integrated basin and vanity unit is from an Italian company Modulnova and it is their Twenty range. The basin is a composite material agglomerato. I hope this answers your question :)

I agree with Sherbert I think we'll see even more metals. I also think more marble, including the rougher version, is it called leathered? In terms of textiles, I think we'll see lots of different knits. They have hit the clothes shops and you are starting to see more and more in interiors. From a personal perspective I would love concrete sinks etc and antiqued mirrors to really take off so the prices would come down!

Another vote for Dekton and Sileston Quartz worktops, use them all the time in our projects as so much more forgiving and low maintenance than granite or marble. Agree that Corian is a good option if you have a large island to prevent visible joins, whilst it has other benefits you do need to be very careful when it comes to heat. Vast range of colours and textures in all types nowadays so the type of material shouldn't limit the effect you want to achieve - be that traditional or contemporary. I am always a big advocate that a worktop is an investment, there is no point spending a large sum on a beautiful quality kitchen and then finishing it off with a worktop that won't stand up to time as well as the rest of the room or cheapen the look - I always recommend to go for the best you can afford.

We're just fitting this one in our small utility cupboard. https://www.diy.com/departments/cooke-lewis-sagan-polished-inox-stainless-steel-1-bowl-sink-drainer/1310477_BQ.prd It's not the prettiest or most designer sink but I wanted a small drainer and have also bought a small basket drainer to keep in the sink as needed. I wanted some space to soak items of clothing, clean paint brushes, wash stuff I want to keep away from the main kitchen area.

I agree with @Daisy England regarding drainer grooves are not necessary, in fact the amount of fall is so minimal and so little water drains away you might find having the extra worktop space is more useful, there are worktop drainer boards https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/reginox-ceramic-belfast-sink-kitchen-drainer you can get instead which may be more practical. Adding drainer grooves to wooden worktops may invalidate the guarentee so check the small print, you have solid surfaces like mistral, minerva which are solid all the through, but they can/do scratch quite easily (es[ecially the black/dark colours), solid laminates worktops but these usually have a black core so if you add drainer grooves you lose the worktop pattern. If budget can stretch quartz/granite would be a preferable option and just put a tea towel down on the worktop to soak up the water.
