Crittal mirror over the sofa?!

I love the black crittal framed mirror over the sofa. Where did you purchase t or is it a custom made piece?

I would say it depends on several things. Do you already have several canvas prints up in that room? Is the room light enough already without introducing a mirror? It's horses for courses as they say :)

Hi, I think remove the fish tank in the corner and put a tall decorative lighting structure there instead and different objects on the mantel piece, i.e., a tall leaning mirror, or a round mirror to balance? Also, off set the display as it is too uniform, i.e., one bit in the middle, one either side, one either side of them its all a bit too "centralised". Group individual items more to one end to help balance better! Hope you understand that sentence! Also (sorry) the height of the light next to the tv doesn't work for me either, it needs to be taller or much shorter than the tv, also, changing them around, i.e. lamp next to curtains, may work better too? I love the lamp, just not there!x Or, a cheaper option, choose a branch from out walking, a fairly substantial piece that you could put behind the fish tank and branch out over the fire place, paint it white, fix to wall and decorate with small fairy lights. Doing away with the candles in the centre and then display the deer to the left of the mantle as you look at it? All merely suggestions!x

It will have a dark blue black shaker kitchen with suspended chimney extractor on cables and wood effect floor. I’ve seen industrial style kitchens with both crittall and wider bifolds and they both look nice. I would go with bifolds for the cost now because we have a max budget to spent on the house to ever get our money back (it’s not that we can’t afford to do what we want as such but you don’t want to throw money away!) even though I love the Crittall BUT it’s the practical side that we can’t agree on now

For me this mirror is the wrong thing to have above your fire. Firstly the chunky uprights of the chimney and the cottage feel of the wood burner, and the absence of a fire surround make an elegant frame on the mirror feel like the wrong choice. Furthermore the mirror is so tall that it leaves too small a gap between the top of the aperture and mirror and above the mirror too- this makes it feel too big for the space. I think you should line up three smaller pictures or mirrors that echo the width of the aperture. I would be looking for a black frame to tie in with the wood burner or something rustic. A mantle mentioned earlier would also work because you can echo the width of the aperture- you don’t have to have ceramics- you could have candles or plants or family photos on the mantle.
