Drinks trolleys are having a resurgence, and our clients are loving them. No longer stuck in the seventies or providing props for 'Acorn Antiques'. Thank you for everyone's comments, had no idea this thread would prove so popular when I started it. We are plastering this week and we have finally bought most things for the kitchen. I did find some real 'finds' though if anyone is looking. Not sure where you are based, but regarding electrical goods we researched all our own and narrowed down our list, and once we had that we looked online for the best prices for each appliance. Instead of buying from lots of different places we took it to Bentalls, who not only matched, but also cost us less, and beat some online prices with a good 'deal' price they also then will hold on to them until you need them, but if anything goes wrong you have 'bentalls' rather than several online dealers to return items to. RDO Appliances also do this if there is one near you, but i'd advise you to research prices first. Another thing we found was inserts for the kitchens. Through our kitchen supplier these were expensive, bin inserts, pull out drawers, pull out larders, even the pop up sockets, sourced seperately through ebay and online we managed to save quite a lot of money by doing this, so our fitter will still have the right things on the day, but we are not getting the inserts from the supplier. What else..... erm kitchen worktop, unbelievably the exact same worktop, same material, same cut outs etc.. same sizes differed between suppliers by 3k! so do shop around for your quartz and granite.

I can't really choose either as I much prefer the brushed metal than the chrome and would choose that - but if the other one is more comfy.... I had some black padded ones like the ones in your images (not quite as nice!) typical gas lift faux leather on a chrome base. Very comfy as lots of padding but the faux leather ones were super cheap - maybe £55 for a pair, haha. The chrome was awful and showed every bit of muck and dust and it rusted constantly. They ideally need sealing over with chrome to protect them. The faux pvc to me (even though I actually work with leather!) worked well as they were always getting grubby (especially when the nephews visited and put their dirty hands all over them, haha) and I had to scrub them down a lot so they endured quite a bit over the years I had them. The leather on the stools I imagine is similar to an upholstery leather so it will possibly look the same and not have that real leather feel to it (like some of the leather industrial style stools you find) and although I would always choose leather over pvc, if the seats are housing children then you might want to perhaps look at the cheaper end to start with to see how they get on with them. My nephews would spin on them, go up and down on them constantly, knock them over (rolls eyes) and needless to say, the gas lift started to fail on some of them.

I'd like to add air extractors don't have a grease filter. It may increase smells (and everything that goes with stinky dirt) on the long run.. But most important: "An point to be checked is the required airflow for you extractor, normally this depends on the size of kitchen and also the type of cooking. The correct airflow for an extractor can be easily worked out, simply multiply the volume of the room by ten and you will obtain the ideal airflow for your kitchen. For example for a kitchen size of 4m x 4m with a height of 2.7m: (4 x 4 x 2.7) x 10 = 432. Therefore any product with the airflow of 432 m3/h will provide efficient ventilation."
