We have renovated many victorian homes from top to bottom. I personally like to have the whole house finished ( more or less ) in my head before one brick comes out. I appreciate that not everybody is great on 'vision and forethought', however, you are going to have to decide on the basics very early on, due to plumbing and electrics. So.........know where you're sticking bathrooms ( and find out what is possible soil pipe and drains wise first, don't just think,,,,i'll put it here and then find out it can't be done. Victorian drainage systems are great! - no i'm joking!! Drainage has to be run past your water company also ( sometimes ). Also, pretty much everything these days has to be run past Building Regs at your local council, and it's best to get them on side early on, they'll help you with what has to be done and in what order. So, a lot to consider befor you even begin. If I were you, i'd seek professional help. Architects are fabulous, but they won't usually have a clue when it comes to aesthetics. You really need a project manager, they'll make sure everything is done in the right order!! I know they can be expensive, but honestly, unless you are really great at it yourself, then they will save you a fortune in the end, or you may face hold ups galore! Time is money! I use http://floorplanner.com ( it's not so hard to master) you can draw out your basic plan and then blow it up in 3d, this helps visualise stuff, then you can move it around until you're happy.

Sorry to disagree but I'd go for white. The grey tile looks cheap (sorry!) next to the marble tile and I think your eye will be drawn from the beautiful hexagonal floor tile onto the wall tile. In all honesty I saw your previous post and didn't comment because you didn't want marble on the wall but a marble metro tile would blend much better and not detract from the feature hexagonal floor.

As @CD said, microwaves are dangerous, old microwaves should be checked for any leakage so if the door has broken if you can repair/replace the hinge i'd still check it for microwave leaks and testers are £20.00 on amazon, tbh I'd be surprised if manufacturers supply many spares for the general public to fit and if you have to get an engineer out its probably not worth it.
