Flooring in hallway

Looks good not too dark but has some character to it. Is it veneer laminate flooring or engineered wood flooring ? Any details about manufacturer, supplier would be useful ?

Hi Chris, unfortunately the floor was already down when we moved in. It is a laminate floor but given the choice, I would have gone for an engineered wood, which is what we have in the kitchen and what I would recommend to my clients. There are many on-line companies who will send you samples of flooring. We found this to be the cheapest option for engineered wood. The company we used were flooringsupplies.co.uk I hope that helps. That's interesting colourhappy - we did omit the aqua tiles and put just the taupe with blanco (which has some grey tones in the variations) but it looked a little bland which is why we thought the aqua might liven it up but now I'm thinking you are right and they are too cool for the flagstones.

absolutely Loving these ideas! Thanks so much. i did wonder if our stairs may be too narrow for a runner but then I’ve seen lots of similar stairs with a runner and seems to work well (albeit they are in pictures only). Do you think a whipped edge rather than taping will help it look less narrow? Thanks!

In reference to your comments Keiblem, a ‘parred down’ look will be more suited to the space with minimum investment due to the property going to market in a few years. However, my concern with tiles are that they can present a safety hazard, and particularly in a hall where you come in straight from outside when it has been raining, there is a potential to slip on the tiles and inevitably fall over. I would never suggest a rug either, as once again, can present a precarious situation! The dark wood I have suggested was based on a preference for a darker shade of flooring, and equally the herringbone pattern is still so on trend and is timeless; also it’s easy to clean and slip-proof. As there is also some warmth in this flooring, it presents a more welcoming space,as if it were just all grey,could look rather washed out and without character. Buyers buy with their emotions...
