Hi Nagham, thanks for getting in touch. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to this and we are no longer in touch with the kitchen fitter who did this. Sorry i can't be of more help!

The design layout could do with changing if this is a two chef kitchen - as currently hob and sink share same floor standing space, the DW when open blocks the walkway - oven is danger to anyone opening door... The FF is not what you want - the list goes on !!! Difficult to help further with no sizes - I could guess from the doors - but no head on shot of the right wall so a bit tricky - this could be a 'very quick' job as a sketch consult on an hourly rate, if you want pro help - drop me an email ! If you were thinking of using ikea for example - you could buy and have installed the carcase's, drawers, worktop, sink and appliances and then add the facia fronts as and when you have spare cash - this would stretch your money a little further ... £4k is still a lot of money - invest it wisely !

Hello Rehanara Quartz is more hard wearing than granite, though both are very practical choices. In terms of look, Quartz has a slightly more uniform look to it, whereas granite is more organic. If you're unsure of what material to use for your kitchen worktops perhaps our blog about different work surfaces might be of use to you? Thanks Monica! I am going to pop up a new post with close up pics of the colour of the awful laminate ( sucha mid tone sluggish shade!) that is such a handy picture thank you!! Melissa- hello!! lovely to see a fellow weege. definitely helps to hear that taking it out would have been the big undertaking we fearwed ( and cant afford!) sorry for you though, bet it is starting to look amazing!! are there pics? Ruth thank you I do so appreciate that and you are right once primed we might have better idea, didnt think of that. and will be keeping the idea a room needs finished in mine. and the fun part I am determined to try and maintain.... adventure starts here....!

The cardboard backing is a balancer. It’s a necessary requirement to keep the worktop level to prevent wharping. Out of interest was it from Howdens as they’re well known for cardboard backing while other major suppliers offer a different material which is better.
