T Extactor fan for a small shower room

We're updating our shower room and would like some advice on the best kind of extraction fan to buy. It will have to be low voltage.

The one we have at the moment is inefficient and noisy. After 2 showers the walls are often very wet. We have a window in the room which helps when we open it in the summer, but in winter that doesn't always happen.

At the moment only the cubicle area is tiled. We have decided to tile the whole room as we found the condensation/moisture ruined the paint.

Would welcome your suggestions.

There are 2 types of extractor - in-line (where the fan motor sits remotely to the vent in the bathroom) and a wall/ceiling mounted fan that has the motor located at the vent point. If you have space in the loft, in-line fans tend to give a better rate of extraction and are quieter as the motor is outside the bathroom. HIB Cyclone has an extraction rate of 210 m3/hour - you should allow a minimum of 4 air changes per hour but the more the better. This fan also has a decibel rating 32db and an adjustable timer that allows the fan to over-run by up to 30 minutes. HIB also have the Breeze in wall/ceiling fan which has an extraction rate of 97m3/hr but only 25db. This model is also a available with a humidity sensor so the fan will run on longer after a shower than if put on to use the loo. The Airflow Icon ranges also offer the same with add on modules and also offer more styling options with the 'iris' shutter which opens in use and closes to stop back draughts. The range is available in several different finishes to co-ordinate with the bathroom fittings. All of these fans are IPX4 rated which means they are suitable for bathroom use. Hi Doubt mom It's a little tricky without seeing the room in person and without measurements but one possible option would be to rehang the door to open outwards then reposition the basin on the opposite wall. Then you have more space for a larger shower and with more room to get in and out. Hi everybody, thanks for all your suggestions. Both Lauren's and Whizywig's look really interesting. I don't think the door move would work in this case though - see below for the space around the room. I really liked the idea of a sort of 'wet room' shower by the bathroom and had suggested that myself to somebody in a bathroom showroom. But I was advised that wet rooms can actually be a pain, because water does spray about the bathroom and in a confined space, that turns our to be really annoying (apparently). I was told I would need to be constantly wiping things down? I wasn't utterly convinced but not sure why - it could very well be correct! I'd also considered a very low bath with a shower over it (makes it easier to use as shower on a routine basis). I liked that idea as the main purpose of having both was to make both very usable - as opposed to shower over bath and that being a bit annoying for daily use as a shower. However, I haven't seen a low bath in usage, so not sure what they are really like!
