Our snug is in desperate need of a makeover!
Comments (15)Hey - not to put a dampner on all these lovely ideas - but might be worth asking the landlords before you buy paint ! They might suggest you leave the walls and add vibrant coloured pictures /posters instead ?...See MoreCurtain colour against dark blue walls?
Comments (6)You don't say much about how you want the room to feel (other than to continue being cosy presumably). So with just the photo to base it on I would like you to consider taking inspiration from the lovely pink of the flowers in the photo and go with a bright fuschia-like shot of colour in floor length curtains (not too long, though, just elegantly sitting on the floor) heavy material (a brocade, or felt wool perhaps). Then put a splash of orange into the room too (cushions are great) and accessorise with navy and charcoal grey throws. Good luck....See MoreHow to I stop Matt dark blue wall from marking
Comments (8)Thank you @User, I knew what you meant with endurance as well 🙈 Ive just read that with darker colours it changes the balance of the resin in the paint making it harder to keep clean and scuff free. Every day is a school day 🤣...See MoreSnug room layout
Comments (7)Please don't even think about mounting your tv over the hearth. It would be almost under the ceiling, difficult to watch. The recommended height for a tv is eye level when sitting down. You need a big sectional sofa, to get rid of that curtain arrangement especially that pelmet, and I would paint over that chocolate brown hearth with white so that you can see what space you have to work with. Think about blackout blinds or curtains as it is to be a snug and bookshelves in the left or possibly both alcoves would look great. I would have the tv on the bottom shelf or cupboard of the built-ins. A more subtle form of lighting other than overhead spotlights is another consideration. A couple of floorlights maybe or a lamp or two on a sideboard or dresser....See MoreAnglian Home Improvements
