Hi there, I think you'll be able to transform that space on a very tight budget without many problems at all. My suggestions would be as follows and are based on trying to be sympathetic with some of the nice traditional elements (door, tiles etc): Replace the lino with Palioclic Arezzo floor from Karndean (a waterproof "click-lock" floor specifically designed for bathrooms which is really easy to lay yourself. The Arezzo is a beautiful washed oak effect which is both traditional & contemporary Replace the bath panels with either plain or a traditional moulded variety and then paint this in the rich dark blue - Farrow & Ball's Drawing Room Blue or Pitch Blue, or perhaps Fired Earth's Tempest Paint the walls in a lighter grey-blue such as Fired Earth's Glass Samphire, Pale Cirrus or Pearl Ashes Remove the wood-cladding on the ceiling and plasterboard & skim it - worth getting a decent plasterer to do this, but should be a really quick way to make a HUGE improvement for modest outlay Find a really lovely period mirror, or perhaps pick up a second hand vintage picture frame (think gilded mouldings) and get a piece of mirror glass made for it Find some great curtains - you can find some great"off the peg" ones all over the place Accessorise, accessorise, accessorise! If & when you can afford it, I'd replace your tall storage unit and possibly basin with something like this from Roper Rhodes Burford range: Or pick some beautiful traditional ceramicware from Burlington. It might be beyond your budget for now, but it is always possible to get to the finished article step by step!

Hi. I'm a bit confused, have you bought the vanity and are looking to paint it? Is the rest of the bathroom fitted as you could add brass or copper taps for instance with a matching mirror? Accessories will also warm it. I like a little wooden stool in a bathroom which you can add accessories to i.e. A candle, natural sponge, flannel etc which has some texture. A plant on the window sill if you have one and then nice accessories for the sink and either some coloured towels or I like hammam ones. I've found a couple of pics but they may not post as houzz has issues :( These are using deep rich colours which may bring the cabinet towards you a little. A darker top for the vanity would also work

HI There, Grey and biege can work really well together if you get the right shades. If you have a look at Mereway bathrooms they offer a range of grey/white units that would replace what you have currently. http://mereway.co.uk/bathroom/vogue-concrete-oak/ You could also look at wall panelling around the bath area to add a bit more grey or if it's not to complicated change the flooring. https://www.bushboard.co.uk/nuance/driftwood-nuance Its difficultly to change the colour/tiles completely without ripping it all out. Hi Alexandra, this is a nice bathroom and you can do a lot with it. If you do not want to replace your fixtures with some built-in vanity etc, an under-sink cabinet can be a start. there are a few cabinets around, I like this one from Dunelm Adding shelves above the toilet would balance out the wall space. add some greenery or artificial plants, candles, stuck toilet paper, etc. A bigger mirror cabinet could be a good idea also. This IKEA Hemnes mirror cabinet is 98cm high and has a nice open shelf too. It is also quite pretty and can add a cozy look to a modern bathroom. TheseIKEA Hooks with suction cups are useful as you do not need to drill the walls. A few shower baskets with suction cups would look good in the shower.
