Help!! Bathroom sconce sizing

I'm in the middle of a bathroom reno and I'm trying to pick sconces for the sides of my medicine cabinet which will sit over a 46" vanity. The medicine cabinet is 21" wide and I have approximately 12.5" of space between the cabinet and the right side wall. The RH Sconce that I would love to put up is 7 3/4" wide. This would leave approx. 2.5" on each side of the sconce. Is this going to look too crowded? I really want this to work but also don't want it to look unproportioned!

The bathroom is in renovatoin stages so I don't have pictures as of yet, I'm just trying to design before sheetrock goes up.

That is the sconce I'm looking to use.

Pretty sconce! I don't know if there are standards for this but I'm curious as I'm contemplating a bathroom reno at one point. You could try posting this in the Bathroom forum.

Front hallway- I say save your money leave it up. Cost of removal is minor but you will likely have to move radiators and electrics and make good plasterwork and coving- I say protect another £1500 profit. Present the larger back reception as a living room and present the front reception as the dining room. Given that the bathroom is likely to go upstairs make the downstairs bathroom into a room to access the garden- I would present the kitchen as a kitchen/breakfast room with doors to see the garden as being able to see from the front door to the back garden should pay dividend.

Hi Will to have more information about the bathroom would help. Is the bathroom small? Once I advised a sink like the one on the photo to a customer who had a very tiny bathroom. Please tell us more about the room itself.

Chris. I think your tiles are a really nice choice and they will give you the classy feel that you want. Either format will be fine but the rectangular tiles fitted vertically will give the impression of greater height to the room. Clearly it’s a matter of personal choice but I think that the dark grey accents cheapen the class of the tiles and bring the room in. If you wanted to go for a contrast, maybe the vanity unit in a dark wood effect would look more classy. My other thought is that the room is maybe not big enough for the shower set up as you have it here. I think that water will splash beyond the screen and in front of the toilet. My thoughts are keep the open shower screen but go with a plain white porcelain shower tray with a slightly raised lip or keep the flooring consistent and opt for a frameless glass door which will keep the water in. Could be just me but I like to splash a bit in the shower and I think you’ll end up with water in front of your loo. Best of luck with the renovation. It’s going to look great.
