This model has two versions, either the CUC mini with a flex arm of 30cm or the CUC with a flex arm of 60cm. All of our products are made inhouse in Barcelona, Spain.

Homejoy! wow! that is expensive! My cleaning team asks €8 an hour and this includes windows (I have heard some companies do not, or they actually charge extra!!!), shutters, terrace, yard area, laundry, ironing, hauling out the recycling to a common area - light cleaning or very heavy cleaning, indoor or outdoor, all for the same €8. And they have a key to my house. They are now doing all my neighbors as well. I actually pay €10 an hour as they have to come a half hour and they are very flexible and are happy to come last minute weekends when possible. I do my own cleaning but this team does the heavy stuff (windows, shutters, cupboards, kitchen appliances, polishing the floor) every 10 days, so I am normally ready for drop in guests. I wish I had them more often!!!!

Downsizing - how was it for you?

It was the best thing to do for this stage in our lives. Each home we had fitted our circumstances at the time; no children to a growing busy family back to occasional family. We left our 5 bedroom Victorian town house with the typical large rooms which we had lived in for 20 years and the location we had been in for over 30 years We had created a small but beautiful walled garden and I had to travel by car to my allotment. Having decided to move we spent time sorting the house to make the best of marketing it. We went through all the boxes of photographs, (my three boys having a good giggle), threw the unnecessary or duplicate ones away, then sent them off to be put on CD. We kept the shoe box full of photos as well just in case..... I put all my boys school stuff into separate boxes and they had to decide what to do with it. One did not even look at it, one looked and then dumped and one selected a few bits he wanted. As a joint exercise it was a wonderful family time and trip down memory lane. We had several sweeps through our belongings. Each time it was obvious what was not needed. Items given away, sold donated or dumped. It also became easier each time to let go of the things we previously thought we wanted. Finally storage for some bits then we moved into a rented flat whilst we looked for our next property. By the time we found it, and with the process of moving most of what was in storage was not needed emotionally or physically either. We are now 300 miles away in a two bedroom cottage in the middle of a forest. We are renovating it and adapting it (not enlarging) as we go, in fact turning it into a one bedroom property but with flexible other rooms. We do have the advantage of a mezzanine bedroom holiday conversion attached which we are using whilst the work is happening. This small space living is focusing us even further. Financially we are much better off, I am creating the home of my dreams, we have entered a new welcoming community and a totally new way of life. Our boys love visiting. We have been here for 18 months and so glad we have done it. Cathartic, most definitely, happier certainly, the right thing for this stage of our lives yes.

Everything Jonathan says is correct. You have to factor in the prep for the room. Removing tiles re-doing the water pipes, chasing them in to the walls etc. Then the re-tiling. The labour is the biggest budget usually. We went for rectified porcelain...........not for the faint hearted. Nasa would have a problem drilling through those. So, yes, as above choose the tiles carefully. Our bathroom is roughly the size of yours without the corner missing. So, take 25% off the tile cost of the tiles:- The tiles were £1500 ( wall and floor ) - The wall tiles are 900mm x 450 the floor tiles are 1200 x 300 Bath - half price £695 Shower - half price £299 Toilet - full price £450 Vanity Full price £699 Bath taps £300 Basin taps £150 Shower valve £150 Shower head and arm £150 Shower spray hose and head £150 Aquapanel £95 Tile adhesive £95 Coloured Grout £45 Total cost of purchases £3,278 We ( the wife - my labourer and I ), took down two walls, moved a doorway, put one wall back up. We re-routed all the pipework, central heating, hot and cold feet, chased pipes in to the walls etc. The whole thing took 3 weeks and I had a tiler friend help me for 3 days. Plus on top of that I had a plasterer in for the weekend for £400. Thus we only paid £1200 for the labour. If I had charged for my labour - plus mate for say 2 weeks, ( not three - as I wasn't working flat out ) instead of doing it for free it would have cost a further £2,500. Total labour should have been :- £3,700 plus the purchases £ 3,278 = £6,978 The bathroom is a luxury bathroom, so yes it's at the higher end of the market, but you can see how things mount up. Even when you try and save on the items going in, it's still the labour that gets you. A bathroom is a horrible, job, i'd rather do a kitchen any day and that's bad enough.

Hi Hu, I think the biggest thing to consider when getting a new kitchen is getting the layout right. A lot of the large retail companies/smaller franchises work on selling and operating at certain margins. They also work with limited set sizes, so although you can walk in, likely get an appointment on that day and walk out with a price and a couple of pictures - you will be put through a variety of corporate sales techniques and are more than likely going to walk out with a kitchen that doesn't work in the long run, as well as a heavily inflated price tag which no doubt will alter as and when you shop around with the other outlets. I am somewhat biased in saying this but equally our business wouldn't exist without the demand - your best option is to seek independent design and layout advice. We work with our clients, your needs and come up with layouts that work for you/your family. Not a one size fits all put into different spaces. We are able to offer you a more comprehensive layout and design experience where you get high quality renders, access to all elevations and most importantly labelled floor plans WITH measurements - something that the big companies don't give out until you've put down a hefty deposit and are a few weeks away from install. We are also on hand all the time...before, during and after should you fancy a chat, need a question answered or you would like to ask us some advice relating to anything from accessories, lighting, splashbacks etc. When you focus on the design and get that bit right you find the rest falls into place, we can suggest suppliers for you to use; anything from off the shelf kitchens from the big companies, to online based companies that we work closely with and even bespoke cabinet makers. We offer quote sourcing for you too if it makes the process much less stressful, taking the hassle of having to worry about quantities and plan checking.
