Comments (3)We make timber Bi folding windows and doors to any size. They can be stained or painted to suit any application. pros and cons of timber over aluminium are. Timber is a better thermal bridge and can easily be repainted if you fancy a change. timber is structurally stronger than the aluminium frames. if timber gets damaged or paint scratched, it is easy to rectify. http://www.timberbifold.co.uk...See MoreKitchen bi folding doors

Comments (13)Tani I haven’t been on Houzz as much so not sure where you are on renovation but seen you’re looking at cost effective options. I just wondered if it would be nice as well as cheaper if instead of bifolds you had multiple glazed single doors with brick pillars in between? I can’t find a pic but I’ve seen pics of this on a high end commercial to residential period conversion where I presume they wanted to retain the original openings which were probably windows before but they’d taken the lower bricks out so the windows could be doors. It was a great industrial kitchen living space with lots of exposed brick but lots of light from the glazing....See MoreBi-fold or sliding door for 8/9 metre back of kitchen diner extension?
Comments (17)I’m getting an ultraline sliding door fitted in our new extension in a few weeks. 2.4 high x 4.4 wide. The frames are 20mm. It’s about £10k and I can’t remember off the top of my head whether that includes VAT (probably not unfortunately). But our number one goal with our extension is to connect our living space to our garden, so it feels right to prioritise budget for it. You don’t need a local company necessarily as national companies will have local agents who have product in their showrooms. This has been tricky over the last few months but we also looked at local friends’ houses last summer, where they had installed various different brands of sliders and bifolds, and were able to get a good feel for them from their gardens! Good luck with your research....See Moremoores77
