What colours to suit these tiles please?

Hello,
This is our living room fireplace and we're really keen to decorate the whole room. We love deep blues, greys and yellows with quirky prints, which is the aim for the theme throughout the house - a family vibe.

But we are stuck with these tiles, which we love but are difficult to complement. We had little greene 'Woad' in mind but it really jarred against the tiles, and then farrow and ball's 'arsenic' feels a bit too traditional and green.

Any help appreciated - we have two alcoves too, and pine wooden floors.

What about a turquoise feature fireplace wall to match the tiles and then the other walls in a pale cream?

Thank you - yes I like turquoise but prefer a sort of modern white but could still work. Any ideas for room accents too?

Hello christjne, I am just getting a few images for you.. Hold on.. Oka do some that are rather good.. Also their faux flower collection is really good. This one is from them and also their velvet in Porridge and Pale Sage could be nice along with Mole colour and Caviar is one they have too that would work possibly... .. There is also the option of throws and they have one in Mole and you could also think of stones and other shades of earthy tones... Group with 1 plain mole colour to give accent but I'd say 1 of each together on 1 or 2 sides and a throw or two for the sofa.. You may find some others you like too.. They also have Mirrors and the Cesario large could be very nice, it has a nice bevelled frame with dark wood and accent of gold that would be gr8 with the dark sofa.. All depends on budget as I have many more suggestions including antiques but for something under the one roof as it were... : ))

Hi Vicki, I would go for bigger tiles, ones that are 60 cm x 30 cm. If you use smaller tiles the outcome may look too busy with your chosen floor tiles. I also suggest choosing very light grey wall tiles, the colour of which matches to the grey background colour of the floor tiles. That would give you the industrial sort of vibe you are aiming to achive. Order different samples and see how the combinations look in your bathroom. I agree with Carolina, you appear to be going for a monotone look from that photo. You also appear to have some nice light coming through from the left as well so seeing that side of the room would be helpful. In addition, when taking photos of rooms and stuff to post on here, I have learnt from all the experts on here that it is best to remove all the things that won't be in the room when you have finished. So the red box, the black blanket (?) the laptop may all distract from you seeing what you could do with the room. Have you looked through Houzz to see accessories that would go in the room too? Building a style gallery would also help the posters see what you do and don't like and help them suggest alternatives. Personally I am leaning toward a plaster pink colour with some brass highlights to go with that sofa. Look forward to seeing more photos of the space!

I wouldn't choose a wall colour based on the tiles, I would choose a wall colour that works for the size and aspect of the room (if it happens to be a colour picked form the tile then great) and then find something smaller such as a painting or accessory that ties it together. Ochre would be a really good accent colour for them but you may not want it on all of your walls.
