Help!! need some living room ideas
Comments (18)I have a similar fireplace in my north facing living room in my Victorian house and I have painted the surround white and it looks lovely (ours was a darker wood than yours and not very nice). I have grey elsewhere in the house but opted for dark blue, Farrow and Ball Hague Blue, in the living room. I decided in a North facing room to embrace the fact it is not that light and go dark, and I found that blue wasn't as cold as grey. It looks great although I have to say that we don't use that room during the day as we have a family room on the back of the house which is south facing and that is white at the moment, I like the contrast and the living room feels like a lovely cosy grown up room. Hope that helps!...See MoreNeed Some Suggestions for a New Living Room Decor
Comments (0)I live in Denver, Colorado. I am currently in a 2 bedroom apartment that is about 1,130 square feet. I need some suggestions. I am thinking of changing my living room in my apartment (I think the measurement is 12' 1"x 22' 10"). Here is a picture are of my apartment living room currently. I want my décor to be more sophisticated and modern. I am thinking about changing my sofa to one of these. What do you think? Can I have some other suggestions? Will this circular sectional fit in a room 12' 1"x 22' 10"?...See Morelooking for some inspiration on my living room wall
Comments (11)I would like to answer your question in three different ways: 1- If you are considering redoing the whole living room then I would suggest changing the sofas, they are huge for a room this size, I do not know how many of you at home but if it's only for a small family I would look into getting one sofa ( regular sofa ) and an armchair. For the TV wall, I would consider BESTA from IKEA to help with all your storage needs....See MoreUpdate my living Room. Any ideas??
Comments (34)Tracy. You’ve been getting a lot of good advice but I just thought I’d add a few thoughts. When I look at your current set up I see a classic and oriental feeling. I think this is timeless and just needs a refresh. Your sofas are a classic design and I think that recovering them in a more neutral fabric would work. But I think your curtains are really fresh and modern and it would be good to really layer on lots of cushions to tie in with the design. See attached other fabrics from Villa Nova which complement but don’t match your existing design. Loads of these layered up on a neutral linens effect background would look great and could be changed over time. For your walls, I actually don’t think dark blue is right. It’s very on trend right now and can look great in a smaller cosy room but your room is spacious and I’d personally keep that feeling of light. I know you don’t like wallpaper but a pale ivory type paper with a subtle colour or texture could look really elegant. I actually like your mahogany style furniture. It’s the tv stand I’d change along with maybe freshening up your lampshades. Minnie’s choices look great. Alternatively, some blue and white China lamp bases would look wonderful and pick out the Asian themes in your furniture. See photos attached and good luck...See MoreSimohamed Hallhoulle
