Please can I see your photos of your wood floor against patio doors

We are trying to figure out how to fill the expansion gap between the patio sliding doors and the engineered wood flooring. We want the flush look from inside to out. We are considering either coloured silicone, cork or brummer and hoping other people have photos of what they did.

Our wood flooring is being glued to the floor and the ends of the boards will be facing the main sliding doors which our 7400mm wide.

I would be interested to see what other people have done.

If we use silicone do we match the doors or the wood flooring?

My husband trusts me and prefers I make all those decisions. That said I always ask his opinion on large pieces. If I left it all to him he would lose interest before finishing! Design is so not his thing. But then I'm not interested in documentaries on outer space or Lego.... Best we stick to our own interests I think! ;)

I agree! As it is not always feasible to install real timber or stone, Karndean is the best vinyl option. I am going to have 36sqm of it installed in my own place. I have direct contacts with the manufacturers here in the UK. If anyone is interested, please inbox me and will get you in touch.

Hi. I'd remove the breakfast bar. What may work is wooden shelves either side of your tall units using infills at the side so effectively a mix of these 2 pics. Use the shelves for stacking your bowls and plates etc with a couple of decorative accessories. I can't quite see though whether this gives enough space for the sink? Do you also have a row of plug sockets either side? If this isn't do'able what may possibly work is If you continue the worktop under those 2 cabinets. I'd get a tester of a similar colour paint and just paint underneath to see what you think. I'd then just a splashback behind the hob. I'd then add texture for accessories as colourhappy said. The lights don't appear to be placed suitably for a pendant so perhaps a swing arm or arc lamp over the dining table will add interest and height.

Just another thought...if you are tall go for a counter 950mm from the floor ( or whatever works for your back ) im 5ft 7 ish and that's how tall my cabinets are ( we have 100mm high benches, so that gives extra height..not just the feet on the cabinets ) You don't want to be bending at the wrong height all day Not comfortable.

wow what a view. I am going to do this myself with cork as I'm not a fan of 'beautifying strips'. Will probably be fiddly though.

We have a similar layout but chose to lay the wood floor parallel to the sliding doors. The ends were easy to disguise under skirting boards
