Comments (8)Hello, You are right, you could have a mirror on the wall to make your space look bigger and brighter or why not hang framed photos? Your conversion also depends on Styles you like or how you wish to combine them. For example I very much like Scandinavian style or Rustic combined with Contemporary Style. Which are your favourites? Also, you could add a lamp or some great light installation can be also the solution to get more light to your space. How about some cool Wallpaper? Good luck with your Project! Comments (2)It is the devils own job! You heed to sugarsoap everything down first to clean it. Sand it well and then apply a bumber of coats of a good solvent based white undercoat ( water based undercoats wont hack it). You need to apply as many as necessary until no more dark wood shows through. Then finish with a coat of a good quality finishing coat (satinwood, egg shell etc). It will take you forever! Good luck!...See MoreSpace behind Lift and Stairway
Comments (2)Hi Lynnechao it's tricky to see how much useable space you have from the photo, but for ideas I'd suggest looking at this link to an idea book of ours. A side table with a plant on would look lovely and a chair next to it, if possible, would be practical. I hope that helps! PB...See MoreIdeas for arranging an open concept family room
Comments (11)You are right, I have not envisioned the full room to be a play area. We have basement for that. There is a kitchen right next to the area where dining table is placed, it has space for our dining table, which then openly connects to another small room, which we have made our media room. So they can watch TV there. Anyways they don't watch TV on weekdays and we too are not really TV watchers. The primary goal I had for this area was to have a conversation area (where the dining table is kept) and then decorate it with antiques handicrafts etc.. We moved from a small house to this one in June, so at that I was not sure if they will adjust easily to the basement as their playroom, which is why I kept the area very open to begin with, but they are fine with their basement play area. Also, we do not have any more furniture that needs placement. I need to start putting things together, but I am looking for ideas and some inspiration on how people with toddlers really use a space like this....See Moredreamer
