stone wall for my living room

hello, i would like to put stone on my living room wall .is about 4x3m.i prefer the brown or beige stone but i want to know if its better to cutt it in different sizes and do some layers with it.i have some photos but need your advice please.

My first reaction is 'what odd beams'. Odd isn't always bad though and can add a lot of character, how about painting it all white including the ceiling and the shelving. It's a lot of work but it would brighten it and neutralise everything. Modern to me is all about white. I like your shelves and I think you could get some really awesome objects to display on these as features. Good luck!

You could highlight it by painting a section of wall behind it that frames the piece. So lets say for arguments sake that it is 1m wide, I would paint a band of wall from floor to ceiling in a darker colour that comes out 10-15 cm further on either side. Then hang the art work up and it will contrast beautifully and fit the freshly painted section nicely and make it seem more in proportion. The alternative is to create a gallery wall, so hanging more pieces of art in combination with that piece to create a collection that fills the space better. I would like to answer your question in three different ways: 1- If you are considering redoing the whole living room then I would suggest changing the sofas, they are huge for a room this size, I do not know how many of you at home but if it's only for a small family I would look into getting one sofa ( regular sofa ) and an armchair. For the TV wall, I would consider BESTA from IKEA to help with all your storage needs.
