Wood burner going in....this - with bench, chimney wall size help??

We are putting the log burner and bench ( as above) into our house. The builder has built the frame for the new chimney breast wall, but the bench will stick out at beyond the line of the wall. Is that how it should be or does the chimney breast need to be deeper to sit the bench in?


Not sure of how it should be!
