Looking for block curtains

I am looking for somewhere UK based that sells block curtains - where the colour changes 3/4 of the way down!

Does anyone know any places I can look at?

Hello - The curtains in the image you posted are clearly made to measure - it is difficutl to get this kind of treatment off the shelf or even on the high st - I would recommend you go to a seamstress and have your curtains made - that way you get the fabric of choice and made to fit. Best of luck

Hi Yes agree with Nicky these are deffinately bespoke. If you want that level of finish you would need for them to be made to measure. There are some great ombre fabrics around too at the moment see Designer Guild. We have used ombre in one of our recent projects.

Hi, I've just moved into a new house that needs a load of modernisation. I'm aiming to replace skirting boards and door facings, I notice from looking online that a lot of people seem to to that without a base block at the intersection of the facing and skirting board. I would suggest having functional roman blinds inside your square bay to keep the bulk out of the corners. When open, this optimises the natural light and keeps the view clear and open. When the blinds are down at night they are much more opulent and cosy than roller or wooden blinds. To dress the window I would opt for dress curtains on the outside of the bay to dress and frame the window and really make it a feature. Whether you have them soft and drawn back in a tieback or in smart clean pleats would be a personal and practical choice.

Hi Lee- the window recess is actually a bonus in this case because it gives you sufficient depth for the 2 blind mechanisms. Plus the additional recess into the ceiling will help as well because it will disguise hanging the blinds at slightly different heights, eg one rod above the other, which you will likely want to do to get both blinds as close to the window as possible. The closer the blind the less light through the sides. I would recommend you get a standard roll roller blind, eg you want the fabric to go down the back of the roll. We’ve had really good luck ordering from Tuiss in the past for our roller blinds, and they do Romans’ as well. One thing you might also want to look at is cassette blinds, which have fixed side rails and thus offer better blackout and thermal coverage. We have a “Velux Duo” on a loft window and it’s terrific. It would give you a different option to combine a pull-up bottom mounted sheer blind to hide passerby (but keep the upper part of the window uncovered for better light) along with a traditional top mounted roman/roller blind for nighttime cover.

Curtains will improve the room by giving it softness and texture, and wrapping things together. They will make the room appear less angular and the ceiling look higher by giving the room some vertical interest. They need to be good quality though - cheap curtains are very noticeable. And good curtains are, sadly, expensive for a bay window. So pick something you will love for a long time, and see it as an investment piece.

I understand the curtains are made to measure but I am wondering where I can get them from?

You could try John Lewis, they will make made to measure curtains.

Alternatively, try to find someone local to you - look in local papers/local websites (even look on Houzz in "find professionals"!). I have some beautiful curtains made locally.

Even if you have to source your own fabric, it may be a good way to get exactly what you're looking for.
