The fixture comes with 68" of adjustable cords.

Practically any sconce can be mounted over a mirror as in my first picture. The biggest trick to making it look good is to make sure the electrical junction boxes are all mounted at the exact same height and securely so they don't wiggle at all. Also, having a fixture there when mounting the boxes helps so the screw holes to mount the light don't end up in the wrong spot. I often like to throw the mounting bracket away and screw the light directly to the box if possible when mounting a light over a slick mirror.

Hello Irina, I must say it may not be intentional as your mirror is broken but how you have situated it is actually really gr8! I think it looks really refreshing placed that way and works beautifully with the blue. I want to suggest something by Michael Anastassiades which I think would be ideal like the tube chandelier. Which would also work brilliantly with your floor lamp. One more thing... I'd love to suggest a Swan basket for the fireplace with plain feet.. Free standing rather than dogs. :)) This is a 3 sided swan and I have mine the other way around.. I think it looks better that way. : ))

We seldom use the ceiling spotlights, but I'm happy that we have them in case we do need more light. We do always use the wall lights though. They used to give enough light when we still had the kitchen all around the walls. With the peninsula though, I think I'll really need the light that's suspended over that now the shorter, darker days are coming. We've put in the Velux windows about 5 years ago. They've added an unbelievable amount of light! If at all possible, do consider having roof windows. Ours are remote controlled and on a rain sensor. We also have lights in them. I'll take some pics tonight to show you the effect in the evening.

Low ceiling height for loft conversion

Hi all. Thanks for the advice. Actually, hopefully a little bit of a win win on this. My contractor is going to lower the ceilings and we should be able to grab an extra 10cm. I’m also living in a loft room at the moment which is around the 2.25 mark, so my new space should be about the same as that in the end, which has never felt cramped at all. I did a little bit of extra research and did find that the average is often only around 2.1 so probably lucky to get it as high as I am. Oddly i think it is a perceptual thing as well. I went round to a friends town house recently and 2.25 on their top floor felt very low - yet the same size in a loft conversion feels perfectly normal
