gold modern table with what colour chairs?

hague blue walls, mustard velvet footstool and varied deep blue and mustard cushions on navy blue sofa. gold table, what chair colour and leg colour? found designers matching chairs, but in grey....hmm not sure with grey..sound ok??

Sounds amazing! I think grey would work nicely, so would burgundy.

I would also have said grey, or an off white cream/linen sort of colour

First of all the Kitchen fit out looks beautiful, very sleek! I would certainly go down the route of New Nordic or contemporary. I can also thoroughly recommend getting a nice sized table that will work without the need for extensions. Having an extending table throws up the question of where do you keep the extra seats, or if they are fold up, where do I get good quality fold up chairs that are comfortable for guests? I would look at getting a pair of the radius benches from Habitat to go in the back corner, or look at getting a banquette made up. Benches mean you can squeeze in an extra guest or two! a small T12 table from Hay and a few of the Hiroshima chairs by Naoto Fukasawa I think these sleek but warms designs will complement the wood already in the room, but not fuddle the sleek look of the kitchen by adding lots of extra details.

Depends which way you'd like the room to feel but I agree with the dusty pinks and greys. I'd include a fancy mirror and lots of lights, perhaps a mirrored dressing table or console table if you're tight on space. Here's some inspiration, the wallpaper is Erika Wakerley 'angles' but I have a feeling it would be too dark for your room so I think a pale dove grey would be better.

I came across a product recently at the Clerkenwell Design Week, which I thought was rather fun, especially as it is 100% recycled material, made in the UK, has a multitude of colour options, comes with a 20 year warranty and can be recycled at the end of its usefulness. Have a look at http://www.kieurope.com/Postura/ It was developed for the education market, but is surprisingly comfortable to sit on.

The table has so delicate details which would be hidden by the Marcel Breuer chairs. Whilst I am not a fan of the transparent plastic chairs, the concept is that they disappear and don't add bulk to the table setting. I would suggest an Eames wire chair is a contemporary classic, as it is not "solid" it also allows reduced the visual bulk of the chairs.

I recommend, dark mahogany legs,or tie in with gold if available, colour ways on the chairs, keep in with the mustard, burgundy, Teal or burnt orange.
