American style fridge freezer vs integrated fridge freezer?
Comments (12)Thank you all for your comments and advice. Man about the House - you're correct, bigger freezer will mean I'll end up buying more food that I don't need and then freezing it and I'll never see it again! I've always had a very small fridge freezer and I think that is the reason why we hardly waste any food as we only buy what we can fit in the fridge. The final size of the room including 3m rear extension will be 7.5m long 5m wide but the kitchen part will only go up to 4m max in length ( if I go for L shape with island ) Emily - yes planning on having a modern kitchen Jonathon - my husband likes the look of them but not bothered about filtered water/ ice dispenser. I find them very narrow inside. I do like the french door style ones but again they are bulky too and very expensive!...See MoreToilet - how to force closing lid before flushing
Comments (14)If you use a Geberit (very popular) cistern, 82cm, then the toilet seat covers the flushplate therefore meaning you have to shut to flush! 82cm cistern, seat covers plate, perfect 98cm cistern, seat hits plate, well annoying 112cm cistern seat misses plate, kids can't reach. Simon - I sold intanks a lot, I was thinking there would be copies cheaper and better but it does work, rarely fails but costs £2500 I believe. Only useful if you have a solid wall and downwards soilstack. Otherwise get a slim frame and stud out with a Vitra or Catalano short proj pan....See MoreWhere should we place the fridge-freezer? Comments (6)@Marina Drobot thank you so much for the thoughtful redesign! It's looks fantastic and we're very tempted to follow it with the masses of storage and kitchen space - however we really want the additional living space. We love the idea of the whole overall space being a communal area, and the living space is a big part of that. Your design is very creative and not something we would have thought of ourselves. Thank you....See MoreIs a panel needed between two base level integrated fridges?
Comments (10)Built under fridges [and built under freezers] don't fit inside a carcase as they are 600 [595 actual] wide and the facia door fits to the appliance door. When you have 2 built under appliances together you may be able to get away with not having a panel between the 2 [as it does look ugly IMO] but it depends on the worktop used, if its a stone or solid surface than the spec may state that any span over 600 needs to be supported. Check with worktop supplier. With laminate worktops you'll probably get away with it and with something like a built under fridge that doesn't move you can put packers on top to support the worktop. When setting out, you do need to make sure that the overall space you have is 1200mm so don't squeeze the 2 fridges together or the 2 facia doors will hit each other and if you do decide to have the central panel, this needs to be a decor panel to match the doors, fitted flush so its inline with the facia doors and I'd notch out the bottom so the plinth runs through....See MoreDrew Forsyth & co
