annoying wall lights!
My lounge is fairly large, I have 2 walls lights which never get turned on and they’re in a really awkward place along the largest wall. Ideally I’d get rid of them but as my lounge is fully decorated and I feel the ceiling is too large to have a pendant I’m reluctant to change them. I’ve placed a picture wall in the middle of them but I still don’t feel happy with this wall... does anyone have any suggestions with what I can do with it? Annoyingly my sofa needs to be placed where it is due to tv position.

Comments (3)Hello, I have a lot of ideas for you! Before anything else I always first suggest people to think of their style they like and start off from there to make life easier. We all have some style we like or it could be even multiple. This Living area looks beautiful, feautering Traditional/Rustic style. I collected some images for your inspiration that I hope it will help. You got to think of what style you would like to have, or how is it going to be the interior decorated cause that counts as well. You said you wouldn't like to go for nothing fancy or traditional. I would suggest you the spot lights to keep your space bright, and they would actually look pretty nice fitted in the the beams. A contemporary style chandelier would also look great in the middle of the room, you could consider glass lamps, they are very popular. I also thought of Industrial style and added a pendant light. For the feature wall I can suggest rockett st George as a place which has loads of great wallpapers. For getting it to work with the dark walls I think it's key to pick out the dark colour in the wallpaper somewhere. Comments (13)I bought a very similar version as in the screenshot. It was perfect for the kitchen. It was perfect for the kitchen. Cute, small, but enough size and power. It gives a nice light, not harsh, properly diffused. And I bought it really cheap. But for my loggia, that`s spacious enough. I decided to buy a lamp that doesn`t use electricity. I found one on amazon, as well as flag pole lights. I think it’s perfect cause the loggia is on the sunny side, so the lamp stores the energy and gives off a soft and pleasant lighting at night. I don't really prefer to sleep in total darkness and this kind of lighting helps me doze off. 5 years agoThe style of the light fitting is emphasising the length of the wall and is making them look really too small for the wall. If you were to have larger and more vertical lights I think it would look more balanced.
Have you considered having an arrangement of smaller wall mirrors instead of pictures or the shelf?

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoHave you tried the console behind the small sofa and then centre the other sofa between the lights? You could then add a large piece of art? I agree re items on console and raising the curtains a little. I might also try the tables to the side. A plaster pink may look nice for extra cushions and a little in the art?
the only thing I would ask is do you have enough light at night time although I appreciate you've just decorated?! If you specifically wanted to change the lights you could look at something like this? The actual lamp head looks as if it complements your floor lamp and they're piece of art in their own right

5 years agoHi, if you go for wall lights with movable arms, you can just move them where you want to, and it wouldn't be so obvious that they aren't symmetrical to the couch. They'd also give you light for reading and on the console table. Would hang some larger pieces on the wall and declutter the console table. Ignore the style of what I put in, but just to give you a visual...
