Dark grey carpets dilemma
Comments (10)Hi. I assume the house is light anyway as a dark carpet wouldn't have been an option otherwise? I think you have lots of options as it's so neutral. Follow what Alant did for his room. Or mix white and a brightly coloured chair or sofa. Or add a pale or a large bright rug. Or stick to other neutral coloured furnishings. Or go for a lighter grey sofa and either bright cushions or pastels. Yellows are very popular at the moment and look great with grey. I've attached a few pics of dark floors to give you an idea. images from houzz, homedit, decoist and jozzdug...See MoreKitchen dilemma
Comments (6)Hi katie. I think the biggest problem is the worktop and splashback/tiles but dear to replace. I know your dad likes the green ceiling but I personally think it's encroaching on the space making the room feel a little smaller and darker. Having it white or in a paler colour than the walls expands the space. Removing items from the windowsill that block light would help and a bit of a declutter. You could try painting both the units and walls white. If you don't want white and white (but look at images with dark worktops) then try a light colour with white. Adding cheap lighting under and over caninets etc will also help as will reflective surfaces and accessories but you already have the SS sink and chrome handles.. Ps if they are tiles and not a splashback then you can paint them...See MoreKitchen worktop dilemma!
Comments (5)Thanks very much Nicola and Creativeorg, The darker granite worktop is for a breakfast bar with sink unit which is separate to the kitchen - a galley kitchen that has been changed into a u shaped kitchen using the dining room area. The walnut units will be along a wall so, yes I think a cream worktop will work very well. Thank you....See MorePaint dilemma for our North-East facing and relatively dark kitchen
Comments (7)The problem is everything looks different in different lights. I recall a poster saying the Wevet on her walls had a distinct pink tint. Mine definitely doesn’t. I would class mine as a white with the very merest hint of blue/grey. So subtle that if you weren’t looking at it critically you wouldn’t even notice it. Mine looks the same colour in both daylight and when the downlights are on during the evening....See Morebeviebeacon
