Carpet colour for grey walls
Comments (22)Joanne, I'm so happy I came across you're post, as I'm having the same dilemma. I have just bought my first house and have painted my living room in cornforth white. I have a similar layout to your living room, with the fireplace and shaker alcove doors. Problem is, I can't find a carpet that compliments the paint. I LOVE the carpet you have chosen, it goes so well. Do you mind me asking where it's from and what shade it is? Thanks, Sarah x...See MoreDark grey sofa help!
Comments (6)Hello cdrs, I don't like beige with the grey(I think wrong colour line) so why have it? If your strapped for cash because of moving(Perfectly understandable), get covers over the furniture and choose a colour scheme you do like. I did this and worked well but be careful of cheap items not colour fast. Bought nice cheap same king size duvet sets x 3. Pillows made enough cushion covers, the duvets made main seating covers and curtains which are automatically reversible. I tied the the duvet with ribbon joining the curtain hooks. If you'd like the heading higher put in some stiffening. In all cost £70. Looks good, washes fast and back on need to having animals and g'children. I used to caravan and a similar living area, too many colours makes it manic. I think you'd need calm by having a light silk paint for wiping down and paper to a minimum or higher up the dado with pictures/mirrors perhaps, may break the slimness of the room and keep it interesting. Hope it goes well for you all HB X...See MoreDark dark bedroom walls what colour carpet
Comments (5)Dear Claire, I'd choose wooden floors any day over carpeted floors as they're much more durable and give an airier feel, however if you end up agreeing with your husband on having the room carpeted I'd recommend a warm grey carpet like my design shows below: When it comes to a wooden floor a whitewashed look might look modern but could provide too harsh a contrast, instead I'd opt for a mid-tone warm grey or pale brown. Hope this helps! Irene...See MoreDark kitchen dilemma
Comments (11)Agree with the comments regarding a mix of darker units on the bottom and lighter on top can work really well, add interest and anchor the room. Clever lighting solutions like pelmet and plinth lights can really help. Using either some glass door fronts on wall cabinets, or open shelving can also help keep things lighter. I'm not sure where you are based, but we offer a free, no obligation design service, with full colour 3D visuals to help clients make their decisions...but where ever you are, look for a kitchen company that can offer you this service. It really is invaluable when there are so many choices out there. Being able to visualise what is a big investment in time and money is so helpful in informing your choices. I've attached a few of our visuals below and the final picture is of a completed project, just to give you an idea of how visuals can help. Good luck!...See Morejubbi89
