Bedroom makeover help!
Comments (27)Hi, The room is lovely. It's clean and contemporary and gives the feel you want. If you want it to feel more grand you need to think more grand. A larger headboard. You need it dominate the space. Grey is fine but increase the height by at least double what you can see already. The bed needs to be focal and will stop the 'flat' feeling that some people are getting. Same with curtains. Go over sized, draped on the floor luxurious texture. You're getting there. It's a great space. If you add colour it will take away from the crisp look and style the space has now so maybe play around with it but I don't think it's required for what you are trying to achieve. Adding a little black will add definition so may not go a miss :) Good luck....See MorePlease advice me about my bedroom!!
Comments (1)It's a lovely idea. You have a lot of room in the bedroom and I think that both the bathroom and dressing room could be extended instead. You could still go for your panel wall as above, which I like very much, but instead remove the other front walls and create a bigger bathroom and dressing room. You should then have room for a full bath, walk in shower, toilet and vanity unit plus the increase in size of the dressing room that you wanted. Have a doorway through the middle so that you can walk straight from bathroom to dressing room. If you don't like the idea of only a partition for the bathroom etc you can alway think about putting doors back on. Personally I think the panel walls are new, exciting and innovative....See MoreAdvice on design for my new bedroom please!
Comments (8)Have a look at Cromarty. It’s a Farrow & Ball colour but others will colour match. I colour matched with Johnstones as I prefer their paint. Cromarty is a very pale grey/silver green. I’ve just done one bedroom in it and I’m really pleased with the colour. Clean, fresh, bright and modern....See More1930s Bedroom Fireplace - Advice needed
Comments (12)Hi everyone! Just posting an update to show how it’s all progressing. Thank you all very much for your suggestions and advice! In the end, we opted to take the easiest possible approach. We re-used the old MDF covering as a backing board cut out a hole for so that the fireplace is visible, and tiled it out. We then made a “surround” for the “hole” (because the tiles wouldn’t fit and we didn’t fancy cutting any more than we necessary) and stuck it on over the MDF. I then painted the “feet” to get rid of the sludgy grey colour. I’m happy with the results! Certainly not practical or usable as a heat source in any shape or form, but I think it’s nice to look at, at the very least! Next step is to find something for the hearth, not quite sure what to do just yet!...See MoreSara Ali
