This looks like a good design - what are the dimensions please?

This pantry seems to have really good capacity - do you have the dimensions please? I am worried about having a small space for a pantry but perhaps if it's well-designed like this, it won't be such a problem ...

Unfortunately, we do not have the dimensions available. This photo was supplied to us by one of our clients, Shelf Genie. They do phenomenal work. You may want to contact your local franchisee to see if they can create a great organizational system like this one for you.

What would our 1930s terrace interiors have looked like?

We bought a 1930's house recently in west London. There were a number of styles prevalent during this time usually falling into 1 of 3 categories - art deco (the one everyone knows about), mock-tudorbeathen which as the name suggests has tudor beams, oak iron studded front doors and often oversized fireplaces too. Finally there were the modernist homes with a focus on modern materials (think lino, curved glass crittal windows and tubular steel frame chairs etc. For me however its some of the smaller architectural details that I love in 1930's houses - lead light windows (sometimes with stained glass), picture rails in every room, 1 over 3 panel doors with high bakelite or brass knob handles and best of all original herringbone parquet floors! These are the things I've chosen to focus on in our house without going all out 1930's! Also as ASVInteriors mentioned there is also an element of arts and crafts to some of the 1930's homes which can often be seen in pretty entranceway doors/windows, quality inset kitchen cabinet doors/drawers, panelled cupboards and sometimes board and batten type hallways. I found the original brochure with illustrations for the homes built local to us from when they were first constructed which gives a great idea of what the interiors would have been like originally. I think it will: 1) go to extreme capsule living due to space and instead of open plan houses, everyone will have lots of interlinking small pod rooms with some communal areas and some private all accessed via biometrics. A bit like those Japanese pod hotels. 2) heating elements will be built into the building materials like plasterboard and will never lose heat so permanent heating for minimal cost. 3) all roofs will be glass or transparent 4) walls won't be painted or wallpaper but will be something textured. 5) washing machines will do a load in 5 minutes. I can't wait to see what we have! Bear in mind we had no CDs 30 years ago, no mainstream Internet 20 years ago, no tablets 10 years ago...a lot can happen in a short time!

I have to say my whole garden is finally looking good at the moment! We had to have a trench dug across it last year for the new drains for the kitchen, plus we've had trees taken down, new patios laid, beds made and a whole bed of ground elder laid fallow and covered for over a year. Consequently, since Easter, we have been "doing" the garden - well I say we, it's actually the OH doing all the grunt work, digging, planting and re-planting (oops), with me in a purely managerial capacity and doing a bit of dead heading.
